Maybe she felt scorned.

There was a story I read some while ago now on Reddit about this autistic guy who was working an internship at a financial company. From what I gathered in the story, he was HFA and especially blunt. Someone who was good with working with figures on the job, but lacking in social tact. He didn't mean to be rude or odd, he was sometimes unaware or unconcerned, and a bit too upfront. At the end of his internship, everyone gathered around to basically make a little event and see him off in warm regards. The guy writing the post, who was a manager there, thanked him for his work and asked him if he was going to miss the place. The man just said "no" and left. :)

That is kind of funny… I learned that “white lies” are a way to show you care. I feel a bit of guilt, but at least it’s making them feel happy.

Like, saying you’ll miss someone, saying they don’t look fat in that outfit, saying you’ll love them if they were a worm, etc.

I saw a Tik Tok for an autistic moment.

The autistic person was like “did you make dinner?” looking for a yes or no answer. The partner didn’t reply.

Later, the partner said ”are you happy, I made dinner now”. She said ”huh? I picked up dinner. I wanted to know if you made it, yes or no and got no answer”.

The partner realised the autistic person was not implying he should make dinner. It was a real genuine question to decide the next move.

But the thing is, a non autistic person would probably be implying “you should make dinner”. The problem is, we are not likely to pick up on that unless we experienced that exact scenario before.

Autistic Tik Tok is calling it ”implied initiative”. We do not see the implied call to take initiative, nor do we imply it.

Another thing I notice, if I complain about something we can’t fix, people say “well I can’t change that”. As if, that magically makes it better. Like, example, the temperature at work. Not being able to change it, is the reason I’m complaining… if I could change it, I would. Then I would not complain lol.

Feathers it sounds like you have Asperger's syndrome. I'm certain you're on a different spectrum than Delora.

Delora is more paranoid at times, and she's also very considerate. She seems normal to me tbh. You though, Yeah you have Asperger's syndrome it seems.

I can seem one way online but be another way irl. I have a form of autism called pervasive developmental disorder. Asperger's is actually extremely high functioning and it doesn't get much higher functioning than that. I tend to do things like harm myself in public, and I have moments where I am almost hit by cars on a regular basis because traffic is so damn loud.  A lot of the social skills I have learned are not automatic but rather manual.

I had to read a straight up book to learn them and watch tutorials online. Autistic people actually have a lot of empathy it's just we have emotional empathy but struggle with cognitive empathy.

However, cognitive empathy can be partially learned overtime. It is much easier for me to interact with others online because it is generally one on one and not a group, when I'm in a group conversation I kind of lose all social skills, and also I don't have to read facial expressions something I will always struggle with Because there are billions and billions of micro expressions which are very very important in social interactions, many of which science does not even know yet, but humans who are neurotypical recognize on a subconscious level which helps them with their social interactions.

Hence giving neurotypicals a "sense" of how someone is feeling yet they cannot always explain how they know. I possess no such sense.

👉Tryp you and I dated for a while back in the day and I know my autism was one of the things you said made the relationship a bit rocky, what do you think about what Tony said?👈

What? Well yeah of course it would be. Man neurotypicals are odd.

But the thing is, a non autistic person would probably be implying “you should make dinner”. The problem is, we are not likely to pick up on that unless we experienced that exact scenario before.

Yeah br and I communicate very directly irl at all times.

Autistic Tik Tok is calling it ”implied initiative”. We do not see the implied call to take initiative, nor do we imply it.

Once I accidentally implied a woman was a pedophile when I was not trying to because she told me she just waltzes into the men's room with multiple men in it (which I doubt she actually does that I think she was just trying to make a political point) and I said "what if a little boy is trying to pee and he's uncomfortable a grown woman he doesn't know can see his dick?" Oh my god she was pissed

Even though my parents mistreated me… I see that they always thought I was a ”problem child” for not understanding. The reason of ”because I said so” made no logical sense. Then, they made up conspiracies of things I never did. Having autism would exasperate any issues by not allowing me to understand their position (on top of them being crazy). It prevented me from properly maneuvering or avoiding further problems.

 Same for me exactly

Autism moment :

I was in a clothing store and kept telling the store lady ”three!”. She was confused, and I was frustrated.

My friend said “she doesn’t know you’re trying to tell her you have 3 items for a change room”.

I said ”oh what’s the point of this context thing neurotypicals have then… I am literally in a store trying to buy clothes”.

How much clearer is the context ? I thought context was like reading the situation magically.

Yeah I do this same shit. I went with my old lady friend to the movies and we were being given seats, she asked me to get her seat for her while she was in the restroom. I just showed up to the desk saying nothing but "disability" over and over until the manager recognized me and said "oh that young woman is autistic and tells her blind friend what's going on in the movie for her, they sit in the disability seating together" and gave us it.  Part of why I was talking like this was because I was so overwhelmed by the noise in the mall I couldn't say much else or even think about social rules at the time. It can be much easier for me online. There are no faces to read, it's one on one, I'm usually somewhere quiet when I get on my phone so I'm not as overwhelmed. It makes masking far easier for me.

So even after being out in the world on your own some time now, do you still feel as if your cognitive empathy isn't normal?

Idk for me personally everyone else seems like they can read fucking minds

Once, as a child I made my mother cry because I hid in the store to play “hide and seek”. She shut down the whole store. I only came out when I heard her cry. I said ”Don’t cry mommy, it’s okay to lose hide and seek”. I thought perhaps, she was sad that she lost the game (what I would be sad about). So, I was comforting her for loosing the game. I didn’t understand her perspective of ”my child is missing and I’m scared som bad might happen”.

lol. My parents would've broke my ass, and I'd be fixed long ago.

 .........what?

Ignorant.

My parents beat the fuck out of me and I'm just as autistic but with my good friend PTSD

It's body language, like speaking with their bodies.

I don't see how people ignore that stuff, I feel like people are yelling it at me.
