Rarely but yes. Never anything extreme, I've found some people actually got their pants taken down and beaten repeatedly, not the case for me. It was done rarely but maybe 2-3 spanks at most if not once in my younger days and the force wasn't even hard.

Instead, my punishments were physical workouts that were lengthened depending on the perceived severity of what I did

All of my mother's pent up anger over having a kid she didn't want with a man she didn't know went into those spankings...

When a child is beaten, they can see why.

When a child is beaten "in some cases", they see its NOT over something they did wrong. THIS is abuse.

Corporal punishment is sound. Some children need to get beat. Some don't.

We've had this subject before and I know some of you see corporal punishment as child abuse. While some of you who believe that it is child abuse were also beaten as children.

You were beaten for the wrong reason.

It's too late for some of you. You'll need to program yourselves. And I mean not just coming up with thoughts/ideas. You need to cut the behaviors a wise rod was meant to deter from you. You got the foolish rod, and it's still the way of you, and you got no rod when you should have.

Believe what you want, but what's crystal clear, is those who look back at their punishments and laugh about it, are happier and healthier than those who look back and are enraged with their beatings.

When other means doesn't cut it.

A lot of that sort of behavior comes through feeling ignored. It's what gives the idea that upping the ante is even required.

Notice how natural it is for her to brush off and ignore her child? She doesn't even acknowledge the child through eye contact.

Prove to me that those who are promoting corporal punishment are not doing it because they're trying to justify to themselves that it was ok/they deserved it and I'll be fully converted

"I got beaten and I turned out fine" - has depression, gets defensive at anything and shows symptoms of NPD

Enabler. 

She had things to do, she brought the child, she had to drag him in. The boy clearly doesn't take no for an answer, and 100% he's never been beaten.

Your childhood must have been pretty sad if you're this pushy about parents beating their kids.
