In less words, the smart man is an asshole, while the wise man is a saint.

When given time, intelligence and wisdom pull in opposite directions while being mutually exclusive concepts.

Yes but people forget how often intelligence and wisdom go together. And being naive is not the same as being good either. I for one can be very naive at times and I am aware of it. Does that make me good necessarily? Or wise?

 Well said.

Also, why is cruelty not smart?

Again I see why it is not WISE, but there is a lot of cunning behind cruelty, "Revenge is a dish best served cold" and all that.

People go to jail for doing dumb shit.

 Lol yes.

Chapo is a great example with an idiot with a high IQ because of this. My god.

I also have a high IQ though no one here would believe me, yet a lot of people here assume I am an idiot and maybe in a way I am.

So assuming that's true, can we really measure intelligence at all?

Cruelty can be smart but accomplishing the goal without cruelty is brilliant. One is lazy with unnecessary sacrifice and the other is well thought out and beautiful

Yes but people forget how often intelligence and wisdom go together.

The two together are what lend to Jading, which tends to have people feel like they need to harden themselves against pain.

When put together the suffering turns inward and the sadism self-indulgent as they pick on themselves. This can lead to self-improvement just as quickly as a "woe is me" style of self-indulgence.

And being naive is not the same as being good either.

No, but being naive lends to a higher proclivity towards it when you look at it Sociologically.

I for one can be very naive at times and I am aware of it. Does that make me good necessarily? Or wise?

Wiser than you were anyway, like when people in the mental health field hold people who call themselves insane as more sane than those who do not.

I think you're pretty wise Delora. You showcased that this week by how you responded to that post I made with you and Emily.

One with lower intelligence would've had a hissy fit and all parties would be worse off.

Brilliance can be done while being cruel, look at animal testing and the nazis.

Nukes too really, fucking brilliant but also horrible.

Cause nothing good comes out of cruelty.

He never reported his Mensa score, I bet it was hot garbage.

Low wisdom, high IQ. There's a lot of high IQ idiots out there, if anything it seems to hold them back from connecting with others to such a point as to make struggles with Wisdom.

Intelligence sees how something could be, while Wisdom sees what is tried and true. To compare, look at a Mad Scientist next to a Farmer.

A lot of what we appreciate from a position of privilege, as we speak, is built on the backs of cruelty.

Animal Testing, Child Slavery, Factory Farming, Coal Mining, Cruelty is faster and as such gets to the finish line first. Our most successful companies opt for ruthlessness with some lip service to try to appear kinder towards idiots, it's 9/10 a cover up for something worse if not a pure smokescreen.

Even Science is being held back by an Altruistic audience, while we got the most progress from nazi experiments and stuff like the Stanford Prison Experiment for psychology, data we'd lack in a kinder, wiser world.

Wisdom is more long lasting, but also less prone to change. A certain level of gumption is needed as someone intelligent, yet a wise person would say it's not worth the time.
