I want to know if the medication was optional, or if there were bad side effects
The medication had bad side effects, she was on it for 6 years and because she hadn't had a flare up for so long she decided to stop taking it. Her doctor was aware she stopped, but she was supposed to get regular blood work 4 times a year to monitor her condition. At some point she got busy with school or decided she didn't want to go anymore and stopped getting her checkups.
, I want to know if there was an understandable reason for refusing to take meds and go to doctors appointments if you have liver disease. If there is a reason that makes it seem less like she's just been slowly committing suicide for three years and not telling anyone, and no one stepped in to intervene , I will be less angry.
She was stable for most of the 3 years of meds. This flare up started 2 months ago and she insisted the small symptoms come and go regularly so they didnt need to be checked. I didn't know any better, and I failed her by not getting her to a hospital sooner when symptoms got more serious. By the time symptoms were visible to me her mind had been affected and she couldnt feel how sick she was. She told me again she had been through it before and would be fine waiting, but she wasn't fine. She wasnt showing signs of confusion or cognitive difficulties and i had no idea she was having perception issues.
my first reaction to suicide is anger. I'm very anti-suicide and I think everyone should persevere through undesirable situations and find a solution to their problems
but at the same time i'm a little jealous of those who have so little worth living for that suicide is tempting enough to follow through with, because life as a human can really fucking suck especially if you are mentally or physically ill and do not have treatment available to significantly reduce your suffering and having to persevere through feeling suicidal especially if it is long-lasting is torturous
Alice is not suicidal, i know that is hard to justify especially on this website, and especially considering her past, but before these symptoms she was very happy. She had a lot of big projects in motion she was excited about and even as she got sicker she kept working on them and talking about her excitement. Everything came to a screeching halt when the swelling started restricting her movement, and that was when I got her to go to the ER last week.
