Who Would Suffer More?

idk. you tell me, since you decided to reply to me with this statement for some reason?  a better question would be why should i care if you're with xena?

The reason why i replied to you was that you cited 'the ability to trust' as something out of the individual's control.  Thus turning a character flaw into a (false) claim of victimhood.

Slippery slope, that.

i said the ability to trust would be affected by the rape. it being affected by the rape isn't a character flaw, it's a consequence.

You're talking about varying degrees of naïveté.   Naïvety  above a certain age (let's say late adolescence) is a mental handicap / character flaw  - whichever term you prefer. Not a consequence of an external event (such as "date rape").

You were talking about "date rape".    A synonym for naïvety.

there are too many people skilled at masking their intentions for it to be a synonym.

Remaining unskilled at seeing through the mask is naivety.

you seem like you're under the impression a person is naive just for not anticipating/thwarting any bad thing that could possibly happen.
