In the shoes of the stalker, their person of desire has some sort of trait or quality that sets them apart from the others. What was it that she saw in you?
Was her obsession with you strictly physical or did she forge a emotional tie to you?

I've seen that pattern unfolding in real life (& online too) all too often. It is the worst, most stomach-turning type of manipulation. The misery card.
The story (whether real or not) is symptomatic on many levels. Most people have no idea what a high percentage of so-called 'date rapes' are (rightly) dismissed in court, as the 'victim' (female) turns out to be the perp - and that's only what gets dismissed, the most cases don't.
And if the man reports the rape / stalker to the authorities, in most cases he gets dismissed and laughed at as "unmanly".
It is a very sexist society indeed, just not in the way most people think it is.
Look, I've been polite and allowed aggressive women to have their go at me before. The one that comes to mind had the common sense to understand that I wasn't really into her that much and we stopped. Then she went after some other timid guy.

I have no idea, I just know the sabotage of social situations started as quickly as the second to third week of knowing her. She was delusional and hard to read the motivations of, which itself struck me as strange since I usually read people well.
I didn't really give her the time of day, so I figure it might have been a power trip. She kept trying to appeal to my interests, ridding of others who could rob me giving her attention, so maybe it was emotional?
