"Relative" views of Evil, or Hell "not existing"

by Karla

I think Earth is hell and we must all keep trying to find our way out!

Hi Karla this sounds like it aligns with Buddhist teaching that life is filled with suffering or struggle.

And the point is to learn to cease the striving and struggling in order to be at peace regardless of conditions.

In practice, that comes out the same as teaching to seek heaven/satisfaction/pleasure and to avoid hell/suffering/pain.

People just say it different ways, but we all want to get what we want out of life, and want to avoid what we don't want in life.

In what way? I explained why the placebo effect doesn't work with spiritual healing.

Did I say something wrong?

Hi Turncoat. I struck out trying to explain to Daddy why the placebo effect does not work with spiritual healing.

Can you explain the difference better? You did a better job before when my point to TK was missed or overstated.

Thanks, TC if you can help!

It boils down to one thing Em, Perception whether true or false, everything comes down to perception.

Perception = The reality of an individual

We are shaped by what we believe, this is the bases of the placebo effect.

A "spiritual healing" also falls under this category, if what a person needed was a belief of forgiveness... then whether that forgiveness was real or imagined is irrelevant (at least in their own little world/reality) All that matters is that they percieved that they were forgiven. This renders your concept irrelevant.

Belief is the underlying principle of the placebo effect.

Schizophrenia is the neurological manifestation of a belief that is compansating for some psychic need, the individual cannot function withen the realm of the objective reality, therefore they create their own to facilitate a sort of sanity that keeps them held together... The fragility only comes in when someone challenges their perception. This is the bases of all neurosis...

OK Daddy I see where we missed each other's points.

The spiritual healing methods are about the PERSON forgiving their pasts, including their perceptions.

The person choosing and agreeing to go through the process of THEM FORGIVING and receiving this help to do so. For them to let go.

This is what I mean by it can't be faked.

People get pushed to a point where they cannot forgive. so of course they will not lie or fake that. they can't. They won't. They want to hold on and cannot be forced to forgive. So that is where they block spiritual healing.

And yes it can make them VERY neurotic. They want to be free but keep holding the keys to the gate to keep themselves locked in. They are more afraid of the change than of the pain they say they don't want. Stuck. While People around them preach at them, accusing them of choosing to remain a victim, which makes it even worse.

...For the sake of argument, do me a favor and give me a reference for this somewhere... online that isn't coming from you...

 Hi Daddy:

You can search online for Forgiveness Studies, 17 Steps of Forgiveness under the Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance,

Healing by Francis MacNutt who also writes about the "differences" between cases of healing homosexuality.

If you read the 12 steps made famous by AA, those can't be faked either or people don't get past their addictions.

The teachings in Buddhism about letting go all are based on making conscious decisions to change, not faking them.

Which things do you need specifically?

Can't you just get this from your experience with people?

Can't you tell when people haven't forgiven things, but end up projecting their issues on others?

This happens here all the time. People who haven't fully resolved issues clearly protest or project onto someone else; they can't hide or fake the fact they have issues.

Isn't that clear enough?

Our existence doesn't matter, therefore any believe held by any kind of animal doesn't matter. If the earth wouldn't exit it would change absolutely nothing in the big picture. Of course there are a lot of subjective interpretations but those are all irrelevant. The only thing that has any kind of real meaning is facts.

The big picture doesn't exist, you mean?

How do things become facts?
