The Poppy project always seemed part oblique-for-the-sake-of-it and part consumer culture spite. I see shallowness in wanting to be a hyperbole of the shallow for mockery. The irony is so low-brow that it's even commercially viable. Although some may think this is exactly what makes them great. I will say I can at least enjoy their music.

 I like their music too! Mars and Poppy's sounds and vibe are different and even though there was an attempt to copy the original Mars their aesethic didnt end up being the same at all. Mars is more punk and Poppy's has more of an indie vibe in her songs. 

Titanic stalked and trolled Mars for years through the Poppy narrative but it's only apparent if you know the back story. Every creative move Mars made after the split was mocked or referenced via Poppy. When you know the story behind that and watch the videos it's pretty interesting. Especially how he uses the character of Charlotte as a threatening force. Many who follow the story believe Charlotte was a representation of Titanic, sending a message. 

After the split when he was harassing Mars he met Moriah (Poppy) who was a brunette with long hair. Pretty soon she cut her hair and died it blonde like Mars.

Mars released her 4:26 vid and Poppy repeatedly referenced it. 

 Well then I guess there's no more to discuss, you're given pictures and context but unless it's a video of him beating "sum'bitch" (<gr8 b8 btw) you'll choose to believe that he didn't hit her, and if you were presented with video evidence you've already stated your stance of "how hard could he have really hit her anyways? So the intimidation, the manipulation, destruction of property, the breaking and entering means nothing really other than him just being a "creepy depressed little dude".

I didn't say he wasn't being emotionally manipulative, I was questioning his history of physical violence. Depending on the style of it, emotional manipulation can denote violence not coming to them as readily as a solution, much like passive aggression. 

Obviously this dude's passive aggressive as fuck, that's part of why I like him. Otherwise I'd say "A Cry For Help" is pretty normal. 

 

Don't get me wrong, their shit together is clearly toxic, but as a comprehensive case a lot of the tacked on details are not really supporting him being someone who's really assaulting people. 

What would it take for you to believe it? On video evidence of him hitting her?

It would take evidence that is actually about violence. 

This is just irrelevant Character Evidence that serves to smear his perceived reputation. 

Has he done any worse than you have?

Just saying you're taking a lot of time to paint this character negatively over things where you've gone further than he has. 

In one hand, it's no big deal, but when it's to prove how much of a victim Mars is it's suddenly worth jumping to conclusions over oddball antics? 

I've also admitted to being a 'bad' person for this, it's still bad and I think it's poor form to try to redirect it to me 🙃

I'm more questioning context, as you're then saying stuff like this: 

If you put your hands on someone, that's assault. 

If this is how far you need to reach to push the violence notion... it's reaching.

With this logic you can say I'm assaulting my house pets.

There's no definitive proof, that's where the buck stops for me.

We've got nothing, and even what's there isn't even scale-able beyond trying to say bad things about his character. We have nothing of value to gauge when it comes to claims of his violence. 

You can't just barrage with a stream of things about why someone's a bad person and say it proves irrelevant things about them.
