Canada, the last several years has been a sideshow when it comes to government mismanagement and lunacy. Trudeau bent over and spread proudly for the globalist neoliberal agenda across the board. Here we have tended to lag a few years behind Canada, but generally follow suit when it comes to economic policy and social change. There's so much utterly insane decision making in these traditionally more left leaning countries. What used to be affluent welfare states are crumbling, while continuing to make everything worse because they can no longer form a strong government that can separate itself from the global market forces that now dominate. From finances to communities, everything is falling into chaos. We already live in a dystopian world, we're just too distracted by social media and conspiracy theories to notice. Some of the policies Canada has enacted over the last several years boggle the mind. They'll be implemented here within 10 years, if the pattern holds.

It's global endentured servitude at best, slavery at worst, implemented by corporations. No idea about this 13th amendment - I'll look it up if I get the time.

Imo, there's little meaningful difference between left and right any more. Decades of neo-liberal ideology fully embraced by both sides of the political spectrum have watered down what those labels used to mean. That and the overton window shift have left western democracies with choices concerning micro management of local economies and little else. Where Trump sits in that view, I don't even try to understand, as a non-American. I'm not seeing either side being more prone to woke policy than the other, until Trump recently taking a stand on some aspects. A lot of the craziness is the end result of the rot that postmodern nihilism has instilled in an entire generation, who have grown up with it robbing them of their potential sanity. Neither side of the political spectrum is immune to that atm.
Here is a simple test, choose the party that does not mandate experimental mRNA vaccines on it's public.
If your Government's party forced people to get vaccinated though coercion and fear, time to get a new government.
Mandating experimental medical procedures is what the doctors in Nazi Germany were hung for.
Nobody's being forced to get vaccinated under the Liberals here.
I've not had a COVID vaccine. Like never. I'm pretty sure my mom didn't get me vaccinated against mumps or chicken pox, either. Because I caught them. And I lived. So whatever.
I think having those diseases as a child actually improved my immunity. You people are always blah blah ing about how old I am. Well that's probably how I got to live so long. 😋
I chose to get my tetanus vaccines regularly because I keep things in storage lockers with gross old rusty locks that I don't always replace in time. So there. 😋
We do have a choice. And yeah, the vaccines are often worse than the disease itself.

The 13th amendment was passed in 1865 to abolish slavery, after the Civil War.
But yeah, after that they had like 100 years of Jim Crow, the electoral college and all kinds of lynching, gerrymandering, crooked cops, and racist schemes people don't even believe unless they see them up close. I was quite horrified when I saw that shit in the states as a naive 16 year old Canadian girl.
Americans are mostly crazy. 😋 Some for better some for worse.

Canadians don't pay for TheDonald's tariffs. It's an import tax which spills onto a government's own people.
If the US charges 35% import tax ( tariff ), on Canadian import, it drives the imported goods prices higher as the cost of the tax is included in the sale of the product, and Americans pay 35% extra for the product. < This one is Trump's tariff.
Canada did a 25% counter tariff causing all American imports in the Canadian market to cost 25% more, with a higher sales tax.
On the bright side.
Mark Carney pulled back all retaliatory tariffs on US imports which should have gone into effect just yesterday. I actually appreciate that.
For Canadians, the prices of US imports are without the 25% counter tariff expenses, which again is a reverse on policy by our own government. Probably saved Count Chocula Canadian market.
