Tried getting one of my cats a vet appointment today only to hear they're booked clear through November. November

How does that even happen?

That can depend on what it is they are getting done for the appointment.  My own have been outward past two weeks from time of booking.  The time seems to be increasing, too.  I wonder if it is in anticipation for people going out of town nearer the holidays or using up vacation time before the snow hits the ground or something.  (Including the vets themselves, that is.)

I've been seeing scheduling complications since COVID, but ffs that was years ago.

My older cat is starting to show warning signs for his health, rapidly. 😞

As for the daily update, coyotes are being rather bold this year. I keep hearing them howling outside at like 3-5am, more than former years.

It's mostly him getting older, but it's like the symptoms hit all at once. He's having a good day today, the Fall winds have been making all the critters extra zesty, but the problems are still apparent.

The cat situation's so friggen complicated overall right now.

Interesting thought about fasting. Ive also cut carbs. I felt great at the start, but now that you mention it, today I have stomach ache (I shat blood, that cant be good) and heafache that I initially attributed to stress and burn out. I may not have eaten enough vegetables/fibre.

Ill try changing diet and stop fasting for a while and see.

Thanks..

Aha, I think we’ve found at least some of the problem here. I’m a big advocate of fasting and healthy eating generally, and also work very long days, but if it gets to the point where you’re thinking life is pointless and shitting blood, you need to call in sick with a family emergency for 2-3 days, head to the nearest doughnut shop (or pizza or whatever floats your boat) and just stuff yourself and give yourself some time to rest

Aww, please take him to a different vet if that one has a long waiting list, that’s really heartbreaking:(

Last night I was working till 2am. Today, I worked 9am-11:30am, had a physio appointment 12-1, had a work call 2-3, had an hour nap 3-4, went out for dinner 6-9ish, now working 10:30pm-2am.

and all my days coming up are similar. My next free day is 25th November. How does anyone have free time as an adult????

Yes, you are right, I think part of my misery was caused by my diet/lifestyle, particularly lack of fiber and sleep.

I hosted a party in one of the lecture rooms with dim sum, dibks, and nintendo switch, and then slept until 2 PM. I dominated the super smash bros despite not having played it for 10 years. I also cooked the fuck out of those virtual potatos.

I feel better, also after stuffing myself with boiled gabbage for a few days.

Another day of the same so far, except with waking up later. The routine didn't feel so monotonous until it came to writing it down.

A lot of the enjoyment has been out of little things, like hanging out with the cats in the yard with something slightly different occurring than the other hundreds of times I've done that, or facing a particularly different opponent in a game that otherwise feels 'consistent', or watching a new show even though they often borrow from tired tropes. Even my food variety for the most part's been a repetitive, small selection as a way to try to save money, which gets mind numbing somewhat when the food feels as if it serves a purpose rather than being for flavor.

Days are moving pretty fast since it got colder, as now it's easier to sleep. It's crazy how fast time moves when you can sleep.

What character?

Foxy fox and Link the jumping hurricane, of course.

I didn't really dominate. I was bragging that I'd dominate the whole game if they gave me the controller, so they did, and it turned out that this quiet girl playing jigglypuff who had never played super smash bros before won. I told them to give her the controller because I thought it'd be an easy win. I was second to last.

You sound unchallenged, TC. Have you tried fasting?
