step 4-  Say affirmations every day.

Speak your power into existence by reframing your Shadow. Think about your undesirable traits and how they negatively impact you. Then, consider how you can reframe the narrative into something positive. For instance, if you easily judge your body, try focusing on the affirmation, "I love my body for all it does for me." Consider giving these affirmations a try:

I am worthy of love, affection, and respect.

I am powerful, strong, and courageous.

I honor and love my Shadow and own all parts of myself.

I speak the truth even when it’s hard to tell myself.

I deserve love and respect even at my lowest.

I have lots of positive traits-  I help keep where I live clean and organized,  and I smile at people and compliment them and tell them to have good days,  and I wish for them to be happy and have good lives,  and I try to remain in a positive and happy and optimistic mood even though I have to cope with and manage a lot of unfortunate stuff every day,  and I share helpful and beneficial spiritual and psychological healing information with other people

and if I trust you enough to let you get close to me I am snuggly and usually behave very sweet and nice

step 5-  Analyze what you’re avoiding.

In your journal or on a piece of paper, answer the question "What am I avoiding?" Write as much or as little as you want—just make sure not to restrict yourself. By answering this simple question, you’re acknowledging what you want to achieve from your shadow work.

For instance, if you answer, "I’m avoiding a relationship," sit back and consider why you might be doing this. Perhaps you’re hurting from a recent breakup or are afraid of commitment.

step 6-  remember the benefits of shadow work so that you continue to do it

Empowerment-  There’s something freeing about being able to control your reactions in a given situation. Shadow work is all about understanding the "why" behind your undesirable behavior and insecurities. When you ask yourself, "Why?" you take control of your perceptions and find your truth, which can be extremely empowering and eye-opening.

Self-Improvement-  Working on your inner self will help you become a better person. Shadow work functions on self-awareness and acknowledgment. When you learn to understand and forgive the negative sides of yourself, a huge weight is lifted off your chest, and you can start to be the best version of yourself with no strings attached.

Healing-  Shadow work is the part of the healing process that helps you confront your most repressed and resisted truths. Practicing shadow work gives you the power to know where and why you are unhealed or traumatized. By acknowledging and accepting your past and truths, you slowly begin to heal your relationship with yourself, accepting that you deserve to be healed.

and what is in it for me ?  I suppose a satisfying of an inner sense of justice and fairness and equality that I have had for as long as I can remember

Nono, what's in it for the person you're selling it to.

It's one thing to think you have the answers, it's another to market it to other people.

k now I am on to an actual book about doing Shadow Work https://www.amazon.com/Guide-Shadow-Work-powerful-healing/dp/1718020759 and this is an excerpt from the introduction-

When we transmute energy from dark to light, we are taking energy from the subconscious which has been pulling the strings of our existence from backstage and causing us much pain in our lives and we are shedding light on it simply by becoming conscious of it.

Once we are conscious of the painful aspect, the shadow, we can begin to learn from it and understand why it is there and accept it as part of ourselves.

Acceptance is one of the key elements of the love energy and once we accept the shadow we begin to transmute the energy into a higher frequency and ultimately into light and love.

This is how we unravel ourselves and heal the shadow.

And since we are beings who are only one tenth conscious, it is quite accurate to observe that 90% of who we are is subconscious.

A lot of what lies in our subconscious is what is causing us pain and suffering in our lives.

and step 1 from this book is "becoming aware of the shadow"

and this book has exercises,  this is the step 1 exercise-

Exercise 1:

Take a notebook and a pen Write the following heading down: ‘My Shadow’

Then proceed to make a list of all the actions and reactions you have made in your life that have caused unpleasant situations

Be as open and honest as you can, bring everything to light

Read over it

Know that this is not you, it is your shadow

ooh my gosh I do not even know where to begin lol  :p  I will probably do this exercise in a journal

It's more like 9/10 of us is automatic or unconscious, not subconscious, and it's actually closer to 19/20 unconsciousness (95%), or 1/20th conscious (5%).

the point is that a lot of what is going on in our minds is subconscious  (as in not conscious)  which eould include that which is unconscious like automatic physical bodily reactions and such

Subconscious wouldn't gauge physical stuff, typically.
