Ballet + Breakdancing?
What? lol I love the ballet. Glorious and super unnatural human movement is a beautiful thing.
I love watching people push themselves to the limits of human ability.
What's wrong with that?
If you say so lol. I've never understood what is so deep, insightful, or beautiful about ballet, similarly to how I don't understand modern art.
Ballet is about following the movements, but with a sense of precision instead of something more interpretive.
It's fun, I highly recommend taking some online courses on it or something. Learning the 180 art of ballet turns changed my life.
Every single person I've met who likes ballet (or modern art) has been either Russian or a bit fucked up in the head -- or both.
But maybe I'm just an ignorant peasant.
The wealthy indulge in it too, but the artform itself by limiting the dancers to need a very specific body type is leading to alternative forms being explored as the dancers age or otherwise gain a more natural human shape. They're also more lending towards stuff like street photography.

And I think this is fine. Combining something ancient that very few appreciate with another branch of art that is more popular to create something new. That's acceptable, and natural. Ballet is and has been dead for a long time.
However, there's nothing wrong per se about ballet, but liking it is a bit like speaking klingon -- just plain weird.

It's pure suffering, but that's a heavy part of the art. It makes for a dark mindset that I've grown to appreciate. Parkour and Gymnast photography tries for similar things but lacks the beauty of it.
I don't understand what the woman dancing is saying though. She's telling a story I presume? I can't interpret it or read it
Have you ever watched the black swan?
It's good, but it only dips a little bit into the masochism of ballet. It's still a good start, even if the main character's life is wicked distracting.

It's more like learning Latin in that it's an outdated language but shows it's roots within what it's become. There's beauty in learning the older art forms, and understanding that can follow through seeing it's existential tethers. It's like how learning oil painting can help with Digital Painting techniques.
I'd otherwise compare it to what Jazz music has become in the modern age.
