is intelligence a social construct?

Social constructs are a spawn of consciousness, not intelligence.

The irregular folds in brain matter is the reason we have the ability to manipulate conscious thought.

The folds are a result of a mechanical instability known as buckling, as well as evolutionary adaptation but we won't get into that.

“Our research shows that if a part of the brain does not grow properly, or if the global geometry is disrupted, we may not have the major folds in the right place, which may cause dysfunction in the brain,” (the article isn't really an academic source but, people are talking about this shit)

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to explain why I put that quote there. I thought it might be obvious but, my point is. Intelligence is a result of physical brain structure, chemical balances in the brain, function and spacing of synapses, etc. Not to mention the impact of say, a metabolic issue, or a glandular mishap. Every little detail. Even the way you think affects your brains chemistry positively or negatively. You're welcome.

" evolutionary adaptation but we won't get into that."

We could if you want.

I'm a fan of the arboreal niche hypothesis.

blanc stated: source post

Social constructs are a spawn of consciousness, not intelligence.

There' no examples of an intelligence without consciousness, as there really is no dividing the two.

An intelligent being must have consciousness to function. Social constructs are inventions past around whatever society they inhabit. Unlike the case of morality which is natural, social constructs are adopted practices.

You don't propose a toast and hold up your glass, because you're consciousness generated this social construct. It was an idea that was passed down to you, and it wouldn't matter if you never picked it up.

The brain's purpose to to supply the consciousness with the experience of physical being. In our case, human.

While scientists are still puzzled as to how the brain generates consciousness, other scientists, the quantum physicists in particular, are already saying how all things in the universe to the core, is pure consciousness, and have no reason to believe the brain is the cause of consciousness to begin with.

I've only been taught three hypotheses and I haven't researched any others because at the time I couldn't care less about whether the formation of RNA was in a pile of clay and sand or if the proponents for life came from a fucking asteroid (the dumbest theory I've ever heard)

Deep ocean hot vent theory seems more likely than anything because of heat being a catalyst, and the evolutionary chain does begin with marine life after all.

It is most definitely possible to divide consciousness and intelligence. There are some babies born with ancephaly, they are conscious, but they are missing majority of their brain.

Animals are conscious, but not intelligent.

Drug addicts are conscious, but mind altering substances can quickly affect their level intellect as well as their decision making processes. They're still aware of what they're doing but their ability to think is hindered.

Most definately separable concepts. If they weren't then why do two words exist to define the same thing?

Conciousness came before intelligence of you believe in evolution. If you believe in Adam and Eve then you're just fucking stupid.

There are primitive societies that existed, and they were not yet humans. They were neanderthals. Conscious, but stupid.

Why are you telling me what a social construct is. I know what that is thank you.

And yes actually, we are certain where conciousness comes from if you read my previous post. I'm not repeating myself lol

Apologize for poor grammar, I'm at a beach and hardly paying attention

Oh that's an origin of life on earth hypothesis.

I was talking about primate prefrontal cortex evolution hypotheses.

(Our grey matter developed the way it did bc our primate ancestors needed quick reflexes and stereoscopic vision to direct their thumbs for a life of swinging through the trees.)

Neanderthals were smarter than most non-social sci majors think.

Oh.

Well, we can attribute all of that to natural selection. As well as worms. We came from their complex nervous system, and developed their sensory abilities into our own, such as eye sight.

There's an observable pattern in evolution where that nervous system becomes more complex, as well as more compressed (higher surface area to volume ratio).
