This is preposterous.  First off, what about this situation warrants a second mod?  TC has been more than diligent in his duties.  You want a new mod to help because a couple of times it took him a whole.... hour or two to clean the place up?  What exactly do you expect?

More importantly, almost everyone that's been listed in this thread would be a terrible choice for mod.  Half these suggestions I want to attribute to you guys wanting to see the forum burn.  Because I'd like to think you lot have better judgement than that.  Almost everyone listed has proven their own flawed judgment, personal bias, power-hungry attitudes, untrustworthy motives, and/or ineptitude in the past.  Several have even plainly stated their lack of care for this place or outright desire to see it crumble.

As far as I'm concerned, if we absolutely had to choose, the only reliable candidates would be Inquirer or Sensy.  But neither is online enough to cover the minuscule gap that Turncoat leaves for moderation.

Yes?  And I think we don't need another mod.  That's not me voting for Turncoat, that's me voting against all of you. : P

If there's a second mod, then there's going to have to be some changes around here:

1. A way to bring back deleted posts should be made. As is, it's way too easy to delete entire chunks of this website with the mod tools. I was able to delete tons of spam last night in just a few clicks, and I can see how it'd be extremely easy to delete far more than intended. This could be awful if in the hands of someone who freaks out or has other loud responses, as they can obliterate all traces of a user on a whim. It could even potentially be done on accident.

2. The ban list needs to be able to be accessed by mods. Right now the mod tools allow for users to be banned, but unbanning isn't an option at all. A new mod might go on a ban spree and, after the fact, find him or herself unable to change it back.

3. Set it up so that mods can't target each other. I'm pretty sure I'm able to ban myself and delete every post I've ever made with only a few clicks, so I could see that being a potential problem if more than one user has access to those tools.

4. Have the website update when a post is deleted.  Spam still serves a purpose if it keeps the topic bumped and their username as the last poster seen.

5. We'll need some sort of activity log. If there's no log it'll be easy to claim that other mods were the ones who made errors. At least with one mod it's easy to point a finger in the direction it deserves to be pointed, whereas with more than one there's room to shift the blame elsewhere with no means of proving which one fucked up.

Personally, I don't think another mod's needed. The presence of child porn on this website doesn't mean that the website endorses it, it just means that it hasn't been handled as of that time. If we start giving mod power every time that the place is hit, then eventually everyone will have mod powers down the line once more reason to attack is found. There's a disclaimer at the top that states that this website doesn't endorse illegal activities, so it's not like the place is saying that it's pro child porn by not being handled the second it appears.

If we do get another mod, then the tools need to not be so dangerous and it needs to be someone who can be controlled. To that end I think TK's fine, as if she ever screws up I get the feeling that the damage would be minimal and that everyone would be ready to pounce if even a tiny mistake is made. She and I are transparent enough that people will know the difference between a TC mistake and a TK mistake almost immediately. This I only think if another mod must be put into place, as having seen the mod tools first hand, I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with it in the hands of others.
