Why'd you go off them? Run out of money?

Or did you stop eating mercury laced High Fructose Corn Syrup?

mmm...good question.  I guess I was curious. I was feeling better and I wondered how much was the drug, how much was me? wondered if I would be even better off off them.

Yeah, well it's pretty tough to work through all the possible things that could be wrong, especially after going through drug after drug.

They induce a neurological changes that don't necessarily revert immediately after discontinuation.

It's just like weed, you'll burn out eventually. Only the SSRIs, they might lose their effectiveness over years, or so. I don't fully understand every variable in every instance.

The Effexor is the heavy stuff. That's all I know. Effexor, paxil is the lesser evil, then you've got more precision tools coming onto the scene which are supposedly better, and quite possibly better, or really just another round of drugs.

Me personally, I do the shirt run test. I mean I find the stuff I enjoy, and experiment with other things, and the ones that I can tolerate without any immediate negative effects, I'll put them on a slightly higher rotation. Being sure that I do not go too long on any single regime. Tough to do, easy to say, but, yeah, withdrawing from a treatment to see the rebound effects is worth it. Only my opinion.

"i had accident so couldn't be active for long time and that is when I got sick in the head. I am back to working out now but have injury that slows me down so now it is not quite the same" -- What type of injury, if you don't mind me asking???

I'm sorry to hear that. If you're going to work out, you definitely have to be careful or else it might get worse. Have you seen a therapist???

It's like progressively dying and becoming someone new.

"Does it make you stronger? Because I thought for sure that if something was killing you, it was in fact, making you weaker" - Well, if you learn how to live with depression, it definitely makes you stronger. Some people commit suicide, but some others don't.

If you learn how to control these things, it means you're becoming stronger and leaving weakness. Nevertheless, the moments of sadness won't disappear completely...and you'll be like a rollercoaster.

"but that's what self medicating with alcohol is all about, right?" -- Uh, I don't know the answer to that question, lol. I'm not very fond of alcohol, haha...

sometimes what makes you stronger can be taking action to fix a problem. I wouldn't want to live feeling meaningless for 6 years. too boring :$

agree-- working out definitely helps. i had accident so couldn't be active for long time and that is when I got sick in the head. I am back to working out now but have injury that slows me down so now it is not quite the same.
