Not sure how that translates in terms of the economics in Aus, tho. I know that in the UK, rent and nearly everything else is close to double what you'd pay here when you change dollars to euros. So 650 euros/ week would barely pay your bills, while in Canada a single person with a child would live adequately (not luxuriously, but adequately) on the same amount of money. In the US, $650/ week buys a comfy middle class lifestyle if you have decent health insurance.

Well, we've been living on it just fine. So, I'm certainly not complaining.
I don't know what medical issues you're referring to, since I don't have any and neither does my daughter.
Any time we have to go to a doctor (local GP) our expenses are covered by medicare. I never have to pay anything.
