I'm curious to know, what do you all think of synthetically altering ones appearance?

Do you think makeup is a way of deceit? Why/why not?

Do you think plastic surgery is immoral? Why/why not?

Where do you draw the line between ok and ridiculous when it comes to appearance alterations? Do you think people should just live with what they got, or do you believe whatever makes someone happy is alright?

If given the chance, would you change anything about your appearance?

Makeup is a form of artistry.

I'm debating whether or not I should start with the palm oil on my face. Is that synthetic? It's got to be better than petroleum.

Sometimes I feel sad for people who have gotten a rotten breast job, as I think they'd look just fine with confidence instead.

Um. I don't care how people dress, but I do tend to quick judge. A book can indeed be read by it's cover. In fact, that's what a good book cover is.

yeah, I can think of tons of things about my appearance that I would change, but I tend to do change.

Sometimes make up can really change the impression that a face gives, I don't think it's something bad to do if it's done well.

I don't think plastic surgery is immoral, if it makes you feel better... I reckon it would be like lying to yourself, if you were born in a determinate way, why change? But I wouldn't refuse it. If plastic surgery don't make you unrecogniseable, it' s okay.

Dunno... I would like to change something about my nose, but then I wouldn't feel myself anymore, so I'm okay with my original one. So far, at least.

I don't think about it.

I assume you're talking about the kind of make up that literally alters one's appearance.

It depends on your motive for using it as to whether it's deceptive or not.

I don't believe anything is immoral. I only see things as choices and actions.

Forget all this right or wrong bullshit. Plastic surgery is just a choice.

I don't particularly give a shit what other people do in regard to their appearance.

It makes no difference to me if they get plastic surgery or not.

Nope. I'm quite content being just the way I am.

Neem oil is fucking good if you have acne prone skin or just irritated skin! I tried it out on myself. It doesn't smell like roses, I have to admit, but it works!

This said, sorry for going out of topic :)

People who get plastic surgery disgust me.

Instead of accepting who they are they'd rather acknowledge something other than who they naturally are. It's not the practice of the actual physical change itself that disgusts me, but the lesson and value it reinforces and strengthens in these people. The saying "Once quitter, always a quitter" rings true for a reason. It's not a coincidence that the quality of life that these people lead is low(excluding wealthy celebrities and even then their personal life is shit). You can look at the typical group of people that get plastic surgery as a clear example of why not to go through with such a thing. Unless you have some severe deformity that inhibits daily functions you won't get any approval from me.

I guess simplified, plastic surgery isn't getting rid of the problem(insecurity), it's just a half assed cover up for the plethora of imminent problems and woes that come with life. You can't buy or quit your way out of every instance in this life and choosing to do so just makes you weak.

It makes no sense to me why you let other people's choices impact you so much.

It's their body, not yours. So, why do you care what they do to it?

How does feeling disgust by what other people do benefit you?

You've seen the human barbie, right?

It's nowhere near disgusting, it's more like high art.

The problem is though, I can imagine getting that appearance is more than a full time job, and anyone trying to replicate that could end up very disappointed should they run into the wrong professionals along the way.

Some people can be happy with their own self etched tattoos, and others cannot.
