Bah, I was going to joke about the lump just being a nipple, and then questioning why you only have one, until:
"after having an ultrasound done, the doctor recommended I have a mammogram and a biopsy. I'm booked in to have the mammogram soon. Hopefully I don't have cancer, but the possibility exists."
If it was a nipple misdiagnosed as cancer by a doctor after a scan, that would be quite a feat of failure.
So I take it your treatments are being covered by some kind of insurance or something? None of those costs are coming out of pocket?
by whoameyeI don't know a lot about cancer. But it seems like as soon as the person finds out they have cancer and start treatment. That is when they start dying. I'm curious how much the mind contributes to there death. I think some people just give up and plan on dying when they find out.
Add this to your extensive list of "I don't know a lot about";
# Constructing Coherent Sentances.
At least related to endgame late treatments once the thing's spread, the treatments are pretty much the patient being poisoned in hopes that the cancer will respond. Cancer kills regardless, but quality of life looks pretty shitty for those who do the harsher treatments to fight it when it may be too late.
An old high school teacher I knew claimed to have ran his cancer to death. Just... kept running over and over, straining himself out until the thing couldn't take it. The mind (and many other things) might play a factor in ways we (or at least I) don't understand as of yet, or things like that could be merely be a coincidence of some kind.

"Breast lumps are localized swellings that feel different from the surrounding breast tissue. It is a symptom/sign for a variety of conditions. As approximately 10% of breast lumps ultimately lead to a diagnosis of breast cancer,[1] it is important for women with a breast lump to receive appropriate evaluation. "
You're probably going to be ok but always important to get that checked out
