I can see how opening up to this community is what TK would do, it's not attention seeking. Who else is there to talk to about this in her life. If anything you're the one seeking attention with your troll posts.
by Thrill KillSo, anyway, I found out recently that there is a possibility I have breast cancer. There is a lump in one of my breasts and, after having an ultrasound done, the doctor recommended I have a mammogram and a biopsy. I'm booked in to have the mammogram soon. Hopefully I don't have cancer, but the possibility exists.
I was reading about breast cancer on wikipedia:
"Survival rates in the Western world are high; for example, more than 8 out of 10 women (85%) in England diagnosed with breast cancer survive for at least 5 years."
At least 5 years? That's considered a high survival rate?
It doesn't take long for 5 years to go by. If that's all the time I've got left then I'm fucked.
- Do you know anyone with breast cancer who lived longer than 5 years? If yes, how long did they live for?
- If you know someone who died of breast cancer, what were their symptoms before they died?
If it turns out I have cancer, you can all celebrate. I know some of you here don't like me, so it will probably be good news to you.
I'll keep you updated.
The fact it's been caught early substantially changes things. The survival rate today is exceptionally high and that's IF it's malignant. For now, go through a biopsy and see what the results are. Worse case scenario pull a Angelina Jolie and cut em off in necessary. Yes, I know people that have died of BC most of whom never did self checks and it was at stage 4 already. I also know some people that have lived their lives after going through this. Forget the 5 year bullshit TK. That's ridiculous. I myself have not had BC. (or any Cancer for that matter)
Hopefully you don't have cancer.
Remember today breast cancer is not synonymous with death.
The early detection of breast cancer and treatment is the key, Los tumores menores a un centÃmetro de diámetro se curan en el 95% de los casos. The smaller tumors, one centimeter or less in diameter are cured in 95% of cases.
Although cancer is in an advanced stage (metastatic), new therapies have enabled many breast cancer victims experience the same quality of life than they had before the diagnosis.
stay calm, be positive.
I wish you, all the best.
