He didn't think it was necessary to expose me to the potential risks of having a mammogram done when an ultrasound could be done instead. Of course, that was before the mammogram was recommended. Now I will be getting one.

You sound scared Thrill. I'd say make a bucket list just in case, make sure you've done everything you've always wanted to do. So that if you were to die, you'd feel satisfied and accomplished. I'm told it actually does help. Good luck.

Nope. I'm not scared at all. I don't even know if I have cancer yet, and even if I do, there are far worse ways to die than dying by cancer.

Ultrasound before mammogram is pretty standard TK - just go with the Doctors directions.

Have been through a similar thing - you do have great chances of survival if the diagnosis is cancer.  Given your age and history you stand a pretty good chance of being fine.

Do hope the news is positive.

That's just good advice as is, death being a risk factor or not.

I agree and I'm going to make a thread on exactly that. I can't remember if there was a similar one made in the past or not. I'm making a new one anyway.

I don't know ANYTHING about breast cancer, but as long as it's not malignant (in the bloodstream), and as long as it's pretty localized, couldn't you just cut your whole damn tit off, tumor and all, to survive? It wouldn't grow back, I'd imagine. Maybe I'm just severely uninformed.
