All new people that come into prison are considered inmates. Depending on if you conform to prison life will determine when and if you will be considered a convict. A convict is someone who has been in prison for a extended amount of time and has conformed to prison life.

A inmate is usually your young people who come in and buck the system and is in the process of learning how to become a convict. I was lucky I left prison a convict. Some people never conform to prison and they stay a inmate. They are the ones who are highly likely to go back to prison.

A lot of your loud mouths (cell warriors) are inmates just trying to look hard. Trying to make a name. They are also on average your biggest bitches. When confronted one on one they shut down. But when confronted in front of others. They are the baddest mother fuckers around.

If you were sent to prison and then released, you are in the latter part of the process referred to as parole. How long you will be on parole depends on your original sentence and the judge’s orders. The time of parole cannot exceed the length of sentence ordered by the judge. For example, if you were sentenced to ten years in prison, and release after three years, the length of your parole will be the balance of your seven years. If you were paroled after receiving a life sentence, then you will be on parole for the rest of your life. If you violate any conditions of your parole, then your parole can be revoked.

My 10 years I received of supervised parole was part of my initial court order that reduced my prison time to ten years. If I were to fuck up anytime during my parole I could have to go back. It varies from state to state.

Yeah, thanks Who, I understand parole.;) 10 years, is a long spell. Who'd you kill?  I'm surprised you got the role at all, let alone for 10, since you say you stuck an inmate for the AB "blood in/blood out". Bangers don't usually get parole.

I have heard (from my father) that on very rare occasions in the minimum or medium security prisons, certain men who were cognizant of the fact that they'd be considered "pretty" would offer themselves for sex with offenders who'd been convicted of violent crimes under the mistaken impression that they'd then gain protection from them. These were guys who'd typically be well-educated, and were in prison for white-collar crimes. From my father I gained the impression that they thought that they'd be likely rape victims, so they decided to offer their services to avoid actually being raped. Their attempts to gain protection were usually futile because the offenders who did have sex with them viewed them as weak and submissive. Not sure if any of you who've actually been in a men's prison have ever seen that happen.

LOL In minimum/medium security there should be no need for "protection" - it's not typically violent offenders. They don't put white collar criminals in max security. Some guys will exchange favours for protection. You might see that with the guys who are in for a long time and the younger inmates who feel they need protection. It's not rampant.

Do they actually keep pedophiles away from the prison population where you're from? In my "home country" the pedophiles were put in with the general population unless their crimes were considered particularly atrocious.

Yeah, peds get protective custody. They're viewed as the lowest life forms. They'll suffer endlessly in the gen. pop. if guys find out. A lot of guys have kids and others were molested as kids, so they hate them. A month before I went in, a priest, who was a convicted ped, was murdered, and he was in protective custody. The next up the wrung are snitches and sex offenders. 

The 'hazing' if you call it that was kinda funny cause everyone was in on it. If you were the guy getting the new cell mate, you'd lean in close and whisper real slow, 'So, you a ped?'  It would freak new guys right out. lol 

Sounds like you've been watching too many shows because what you've said regarding prison, thus far, is complete bullshit.

Its my colt M4. And you are right I can't have a weapon or buy a weapon. My girlfriend bought it for me with my money. Technically it's hers it is in her name. If I want a weapon someone has to buy it for me. Because of my charges I don't think I will ever be able to buy a gun again. 

I didn't use a gun the day it happened. I know you know most of this so what I say is for the others who read this.

when a prisoner goes in front of the parole board. They look at your case. What you did to get locked up and any cases that are similar. They also look at how you spent your time served and your personality. Because of my crime and my past history leading up to that and the court order. They will determine if you are ready to be released and how long you will stay on parole. There are others in the legal system that have there hand in it and other factors. Every state has there own ways of doing shit.

Certain people in the forum want me to explain what and when and where this happened. If I give that out everyone could look up my case online. It's common sense. Im not oblivious to the fact that everyone in here are strangers. I gave more info than I should have already.

I'm surprised your GF bought you a firearm (in her name), since the parole board would likely watch that. It's risky. Do you ever worry that some of the things you've said here, (in your own name, nonetheless) will damage your parole?
