That came from a tv ad for Kids' Help Phone, an agency that takes anonymous distress calls from children. I never did check to see if that was just their callers or a nationwide statistic, but I believe it could be, based on other stats I've heard on CBC. A completely anonymous phone survey determined that 1 in 4 Canadian women are also physically and/ or sexually abused by their husbands. The stat was double what had previously been believed. The research group suggested that complete anonymity may have led to more honest reporting by the women.

You've never been interrogated for being poor... For the forty-eighth time, it's probably bc you've been married for most of your adult life.

wow, that sounds intense, but i can understand the reaction to an extent. didn't you tell the cops this man had molested your daughter? and i take it from your comment regarding your dislike for cops and social workers you've had runs ins with them regarding your daughter in the past? must have been pretty bad for you to want to avoid them that much.

lol. When I do get it, it is quite the freak show.

What's sucky about not wanting to have sex with somebody else? Having sex with somebody I don't feel comfortable with bc a bunch of narcs on some internet forum say that my being celibate proves there's something wrong with me is a lot like eating when you're not hungry, don'tcha think?

How many times have you people told me that poor people shouldn't have kids? Gee, isn't the best way to avoid having more kids to....oh, idk... REFUSE TO HAVE SEX?!? :P

Xena, my best female friend is a Canadian.  She's no blind either.

But you still haven't addressed the issue of  your relentless down under interrogations of your infant daughter. As Pink phrased it perfectly: "you indoctrinated your daughter with this touching nonsense. That's how you implant ideas."

That, for me, constitutes as abuse.

Of course you don't have to address it unless you want to. This is not an interrogation, just some random internet forum.

It has absolutely nothing to do with being married or not. I got married at 25. Was as poor afterwards as before. Most people, outside of family / friend circle, haven't even the faintest idea that I'm married.  My husband is poor, my kids are poor too (so is my butler, my maid, my chauffeur - the whole lot )  - and guess what - no interrogations. People don't get interrogated for being poor.

Well I just was commenting on the fact you only have sex when your kids are gone.

Well they shouldn't bring anything into the world they can't support. What's so bad about saying that? I'm sure most of the population would agree with me.
