I think you're only in your job because you are large part sociopathic/narcassistic and enjoy the power that you derive from releasing these "high risk" people back into the community knowing full well they can't be changed and will offfend again. The little thrill you get from having to deal with a "more complicated working week" derives from knowing you were in charge of the system that allows the high risk offenders to do their thing again, and you love seeing the carnage that follows and deep down get off on feeling like you were the orchestrator of it ....
Wow - from one member thinking I am a kept woman to another assuming I have the capacity to 'release' high risk people. That was a dizzying rise up the power ranks.....
I have no desire to be a Magistrate or a Judge - there is a great deal of accountability there and it is rather difficult to meander whimsically through life if one is constantly held to public scrutiny and account. As the great quote states "With great power comes great responsibility" ( forgive the cheap pop culture Marvel quote). now don't get me wrong, great power would be just brilliant, but the responsibility/ accountability component is not as dazzling.
The decision to release high risk offenders is not mine - that is decreed by the Court system. I work to assist them in reducing their risk. Correct you are there - it can never be completely removed but there are some therapeutic techniques that work well to reduce it. If the choice were mine I'd dispose of them all - if you can't maintain some type of control you are simply a rabid animal that needs to be removed. Terribly altruistic of me on one hand, on the other it is also a way of display total disappointment in ones 'colleagues'.
The deaths were unfortunate - as most senseless deaths are. I do not wail and weep as that just simply isn't my style, but trust me (lol) when I say that I do think that the needless death of an innocent person is wrong.
I do get a sense of satisfaction when one of the clients realises that his mask is not impenetrable and that I see them for who and what they are. It appeals to that grandiose sense of self esteem I have.

Ditch the gaudy hair-dye & the straightener, that should help lots. Ditch your hairdresser, generally. Nicely curved mouth though, I like that.
