Psychopaths: how can you spot one?

People with ASPD features sometimes seek voluntary help for their coexisting conditions

That is true.

Psychopaths also have AsPD, and can have can co-existing conditions.

No true psychopath waltzes into therapy. Unless there is something to gain from doing so. Specifically financially.

There are many psychopaths who prefer to live a parasitic lifestyle because they don't want to work. Attending therapy can make it easier to get on Disability Support.

Will they search help for homicidal urges or something unrelated to psychopathy and something that will directly affect their work performance if that's the case?

Why don't you just let loose demon? If these consume you so much?

I had homicidal urges very briefly over someone that I wanted to make suffer and I came pretty close to doing it if I'm honest. Trivial things stopped me. Like being too lazy to get a firearm. (Also I didn't want to have to die/be imprisoned)

I can't imagine how anyone consumed by these thoughts for years can hold them back. You claim to be so impulsive.

I think I have more impulse in my thumb.

I already tried to kill someone in my own home because I lost control and acted on impulse. If I had of succeeded in killing him, there is no way I would have been able to avoid prison because there are witnesses who saw him arrive.

I have to avoid certain situations because I can't stop myself from acting on impulse in those situations, and I don't like losing control like that.

Best line of the article:

"Psychopathy is probably the most pleasant-feeling of all the mental disorders"

“How many psychopaths go to a psychiatrist for mental distress, unless they’re in prison? It doesn’t happen,”

Said by Hare, I wonder if this means that a psychopath wouldn't seek out therapy for murder fantasies...

Before the internet I think it was like that. People didn't have that resource to look anything up. Most of your people with dissorders like antisocial had no idea there was anything wrong with them. Tell it was to late and they were in prison.

Now with this generation that grew up with the internet and social media. They can read about all this stuff and diagnose themselfs and that is the problem we have now. A bunch of people 30 and under that diagnosed themselves and preetend to be that personality. All because of there lack of people skills.
