Psychopaths: how can you spot one?

by SayIt

Look TK if you failed you didn't mean it. You were in a home the possibilities are endless.

I take it you don't understand what it means to lose control and act on impulse.

I didn't invite him to my house with the intention of killing him, but the thought of killing him was obviously there nonetheless, even though it was not something I had planned to do. I obviously wanted to kill him or I would not have acted on the urge to do so with no regard whatsoever to the potential consequences.

The only reason I didn't kill him is because he wasn't tied up beforehand and, when he panicked and eventually pushed me off him, I managed to regain control of myself with the realization I would be caught for sure if I killed him.

"Tried to kill someone" Give me a break

I'm not asking you to believe me. That doesn't mean I can't share my genuine experiences, regardless of your opinion.

Your ADHD example compliments my last point. It's not the label at fault, it's how people respond to it that's culprit. Allowing someone to be excused excessively for their disorders means they don't necessarily need to learn how to deal with or even overcome them. That's not the label's fault, that's the fault of those that use it as an excuse to behave differently.

The label itself just denotes traits.

"Self diagnoses is a joke."

Being diagnosed by doctors has it's share of flaws as well, such as the example you brought up yourself related to patients getting "ideas" that might affect their stories. It's effectively educated guesswork from either side.

They are simply a resource and a second opinion, which is helpful for seeing yourself from outside of yourself.

"If anyone dug deep enough into themselves they could think they had all sorts of mental problems."

If they're a hypochondriac, maybe.
