I disagree. Being ordered around by others is not something that appeals to a sociopath.
When someone tells me what to do, I have a strong desire to oppose them because I like making my own rules and breaking them as I see fit. I also don't work well with others. Soldiers are absolutely required to work well with others. I'd rather tell the 'higher ups' to go fuck themselves and do my own damn thing.
Which is why team building is part of the conditioning...
You guys just don't get it. These things are not black and white. Conditioning can make you do anything, sociopaths can be made empathetic, and empaths can be made sociopathic. That's what conditioning is.

Sociopaths are drawn to positions of authority. The military makes promises of authority as you go through the ranks it offers you power over others on a silver platter over time. Higher level elite units do not adhere to the same level of "discipline" as regular units. It is an environment of exclusivity, authority over others, power, killing, narcissistic behavior, it is a position of esteem, it offers good pay and has many incentives for the self invested.
And yes, you will have a fucking boss... but what fucking job would you not have a boss in? CEO's of fortune five hundred companies, have at some point worked for others... as do doctors, and lawyers and cops, all of these are among the top listed jobs for sociopaths

Sure a low functioning sociopathy would probably be unable to keep a job anywhere where they had a boss... which is why most low functioning sociopaths end up on welfare... or some other hand out. But I assure you, there are plenty of high functioning sociopaths.
You're so defensive. You're clearly too narrow-minded to see anything other than your own point of view.
Here in Australia you can't even join the military if you're a sociopath because it doesn't want them. There are a battery of tests you have to pass to gain entry to the military and one of them is a psychological evaluation. If you don't pass the psych eval, you can forget the military.
Now tell me, cause I'm curious, why would the military reject sociopaths if, according to you, they're training soldiers to be sociopathic?
I'm not disagreeing with you that many sociopaths are drawn to positions of authority, but it seems to me that the military wouldn't be very high on that list.
In regard to your other post, asking me what I do for a living... I don't work because I don't like working, especially not for other people.
