There are multiple ketamine infusion centers near where I live so I will likely be trying it sooner than later:) I'm excited, I've been reading a lot of success stories feom people who had depression and anxiety as well as bipolar and other mental disorders :):)
I feel like ketamine is a last resort
this girl is on the ketamine permanently habitual daily use
and the treatment process entails sitting in a clinic tripping balls for like 9-14 hours...
it’s... a lot.
really I would only consider this after trying *a lot* of treatment processes
So I just finished the video. About this...
The girl was beaten somewhere, woke up twice with frontal and occipital lobe damage. She also had a brain bleed that was missed in the ER and left untreated. Her case is hardly applicable to the regular patient with a mood disorder.
A ketamine trip is not 9-14 hours. It's about an hour to two hours. And she was only given that dose because she was opiate resistant and because of the extent of brain damage. Secondly, she only did strong infusions for 7 sessions. The purpose of which was to re-wire her brain from the damage. After those sessions, they gave her a nasal spray which had a clinical dose (to be used as needed for pain), meaning she doesn't really feel dissociated from it. And she said her treatment is almost over at this point.
Yeah it’s a drastic measure for extreme cases is what I’m trying to say...
they were also treating ptsd and depression for her tho
but yeah the reason the treatment process is 9-14 hours is because it’s released incrementally into your blood steam over a period of time
I was prescribed abilify to go along with lexapro and also buspar to replace the other anti anxieties I had tried that made me high or dopey
it helped immensely
but yeah uh depression is hard to treat so idk if I would call it treatment resistant unless your doc labeled it as that
I know someone with that who said marijuana helped more than any med
marijuana helps me a lot too and cbd for anxiety
before I had any meds I self medicated with marijuana constantly
IMO there isn’t anything negative about using it for mental health reasons if your mental health struggles are on the more severe side (aka you’ve required mental hospitalization at least once)
Problem is it’s habitual if you’re using it for anxiety and depression you get psychologically dependent like you start to feel naked without it or prefer being high all the time
but yeah if it’s so bad you can’t stop killing your self I think being a little high is better than being dead and losing your mind / harming yourself
