I feel like ketamine is a last resort
this girl is on the ketamine permanently habitual daily use
and the treatment process entails sitting in a clinic tripping balls for like 9-14 hours...
it’s... a lot.
really I would only consider this after trying *a lot* of treatment processes
but most important you have to understand there is no magic pill and progress in any treatment process is a success
and your aim should be practice hard work and effort as well as commending yourself for the accomplishments you’ve made but... you gotta understand treating depression is about progrss and making life easier and practice
not about perfection
“practice makes easier, not perfect” something my therapist drilled into my head when I was in residential treatment
you gotta learn a lot of stuff and it’s a journey and success with it is a complicated formula and includes a lot of ups and downs
as with anxiety and ptsd as well
and lastly do consider physiological health... functional medicine and endocrinologist, nutritionist/dietitian helped me immensely. It turned out a lot of my inability to produce and regulate serotonin was caused from metabolic deficiencies horomone imbalance and poor diet life style choices
Ptsd depression and anxiety are very physiological disorders It you research into it...
Also understanding depression from a neuro-psych POV helped me a lot. Knowing how the brain works... is a good start at treating your own depression. Believe it or not. Hardwiring happiness is a book I recommend to everyone but especially for anyone struggling with depression.
it made me realize I needed to take care of myself in a certain way to get better, and most importantly that it is totally possible, to get better.
If you’re ever feeling down just remember neuroplasticity is a thing...
also a film called happy I recommend as well it’s on YouTube. It’s along that same vein of thought. It explains where happiness comes from and how it works.
