Something reminded me recently of a kid I saw a few years ago when I took a semester at a community college. There was a very large, very low functioning mentally handicapped guy in my College algebra class. He was given unlimited time for exams and other special privileges so he could complete his work. He even had a chaperone that walked her around the first 2 weeks. He told people he wanted to go to Johns Hopkins and become an RN.
I'm sure people will disagree with me, but I don't think someone like this should be going to college for a career like that. He wasn't capable of doing even schoolwork on his own, he deffinately wouldn't be capable of taking care of other people. I only went to that CC for one semester so IDK what happened to him but I can't imagine someone who needs other people to tie his shoes possibly got into John's Hopkins.
The worst part of this senerio was everyone telling him how "great" it was for him to pursue his dream. That isnt great, this is a mentally disabled person investing thousands of dollars into a future they are incapable of obtaining.
