The automation we are dealing with today doesn't create more jobs. The only sectors that will see growth are maintenance technician types and programming jobs. But for 1,000 robots that replaced 1,000 workers, only takes one technician to manage.

It will see a growth of jobs (or potential of jobs at least), just not equivalent to the unskilled jobs lost in the first place. This is why education will be so important going forward.

The rate of jobs created by automation will be less than half of what jobs it diminished. Education is already charged at an outrageous premium in the US.

The idea of UBI has been introduced and while it's our best hope imo, it's a dead end. UBI would mean higher corporate taxes, higher corporate taxes just leads to immediate outsourcing, bleeding even more jobs from the sectors.

It doesn't necessarily have to lead to massive outsourcing if the entire world is on a similar level economically. We could also put in place international agreements prohibiting tax havens and underpaying foreign workers.

Imagining the entire world on a similar economic level seems like an impossibility. 1st world nations thrive in part because we get underdeveloped nations to do our work for cheaper. And as far as international agreements, you know that is a joke.

if robots can do your job, no doubt, you are fucked.

They're starting to be able to do everything, even write music, stories, articles, and even create art. Graphic Design itself is so pre-processed that an AI replacing it is highly likely, and ads are all over the place and already working alongside algorithms to further the company aims. As cameras become more advanced we're also liable to be understood more procedurally than we could ever hope to do ourselves solely, and our identities are already in a network.

There'll be a point where no one's working, and our response to it past a point will be largely automatic.

There have been a lot of challenging hurdles in the last hundred years as technology has progressed. The obstacle of automation will abruptly curb our future.

Retail and transportation services will very likely be 100% automated by 2040 if not sooner. Retail itself is one of the largest job sectors, accounting for 12% of all jobs in the US. Transportation is also one of the largest job sectors, around 9% of all jobs in the US.  These sectors are the cornerstone of society, unskilled labor needed to keep the under educated masses from starving. Remove these base blocks and you're looking at a 25% employment rate nationwide(4% current).

The argument for automation is that it's essentially what we did during our industrial period, moving away from sweat shops making shoes. The automation we are dealing with today doesn't create more jobs. The only sectors that will see growth are maintenance technician types and programming jobs. But for 1,000 robots that replaced 1,000 workers, only takes one technician to manage.

The state of political affairs are already pretty virulent, with both sides more extreme branches becoming more prominent. The polarization and violence will scale correlatively to the unemployment rate. It's bullet that's already been shot and it's going to hit you in 20 years. Enjoy yourself

But this is only true if people rollover and accept the structure holding this system up can’t be changed. Nothing is written in stone.

People can elect leaders who are willing to reset capitalism to better redistribute wealth (through things like free education). Or they can keep electing governments that keep lowering taxes for corporations that get richer and keep everyone else out. Even if these corporations outsource more as you say, simple mathematics shows this model can’t succeed.

Corporations need consumers who can afford to buy their goods. Displace too many people and there won’t be consumers to sell to. It's lose lose.

What if shitposting gets automated and long after we go extinct there will be a subspecies of highly advanced shitposting AI that fills trillions of forums with sublime shitposts of the highest level of irony and troll quality and types of subtleties undiscovered by mankind...

That's what I'm wondering... There will be no one to appreciate the highly sophisticated shitposts. Maybe, that is the greatest irony of all.

It's already happening; TalkToTransformer.

Oh shit post, ikr, it should have been "I am a member of a cult. This isn't the most appropriate place to talk about my cult. Don't ask any questions". But now we're getting into serious spoilers territory at this point :/

I can only assume the main problem is that people are now saying, as they're doing by asking me to read the comments, that "Well you're not a cult, so you can't discuss your cult." But, when it is clear this is being taken as an attempt to make me give a shit, I can't see where that is going to be an attempt at being fun or funny. It is going to be just as offensive and hurtful as reading that comment. I'm not a Scientologist but still, not one of them has been good about not giving a crap about my cult. One can't be a Scientologist and not give a fuck about people who have been conditioned to think that Scientologists are fucking awesome, or about being expected to give up all of their basic humanity for such a small cult

Oh shit post, ?"

So there you have it. I hope I wasn't too hard going for an epic rant. Anyways I just want everyone to know a few things before you read what I have to say about them.

No, I'm not claiming that they are worthless and all I meant is that you probably shouldn't be buying them before buying any other brand. You don't make any money when you buy a Samsung brand tablet, a Motorola brand tablet, or any of the others. You also may see it is cheaper in the beginning just because most people are scared of investing some money. But once you see how good the Samsung tablets really are and you will be able to tell it is good for you.

Also, if you are buying a tablet of any other kind (as in any other brands) make sure you will use the keyboard and don't use any app. You want to get a truly great experience on the device you buy so you don't spend any money on some other brand and if you buy a low quality tablet you won't get the

Oh shit post, ive got another one for ya!

This will probably be the last time you see me post there, but I love seeing the reaction. You made it fun!

P.S. Thanks for doing the math, its so fun to see how crazy the math can be sometimes. The fact that you got the results to be equal is actually really neat.I really like your concept, it could be amazing.I don't think the math was totally crazy though, but I feel like it was too easy. Maybe some changes would help with the equation, it's a pretty simple thing for me to come up with so maybe I can find a less complicated form of it.Also, a couple of my own experiments with adding the color-saturation values can't work out for me. I think that the problem is that the values on the spectrum, such as red and blue, aren't the same. In an RGB spectrum, black is the highest red, and white is the highest blue. I think the colors of the red, green and blue parts are too

The future is near.
