You say all of this, and yet look at how things went. The amount of energy spent does not matter when the ends justify the means, especially when we're at that end presently. If anything, watching the mods sweat over having less work to do is proof of one's convictions over the other, as it's working with a handicap and still succeeding. The handicap actually made the spammers look more impressive, while the mods meanwhile looked ineffective and, often at points for many of them, petty and weak of character.
Most CP posters just grabbed Jim's one to two links and posted them as if it were their own. Most of the CP flood wasn't varied, just copies of formerly removed content, so the only steps that are actually complicated are the steps following:
make accounts after accounts
each account on a different vpn
get through the pain of captchas
Past a point of repetition it almost becomes fun.

only to post a weird link with spaces and dots that no one in their right minds would access anyway...
It was to prove a point, and as I saw with the blog's view counter... people actually did check the links with spaces in them.
