What the actual fuck… so this housemate:
- talked shit about everyone behind their backs
- was domineering and bribed you to wash his car to kinda humiliate you
- hit on every woman you brought back to the house
- played loud movies at 3am
- used up all the internet data
- harassed anyone taking longer than 10 minutes in the bathroom
- didn’t pitch in for toilet paper
- stole from you
That’s not a ‘frenemy’, that’s an awful person basically just bullying you. It’s one thing taking the high road and not resorting to pettiness, but what did you actually do to stick up for yourself in this situation? Think I’d have either moved out within a week or be serving whatever the Canadian sentence is for first degree murder for the loud movie thing alone. This kinda comes back to the other thread when you were saying about the woman who messed you around. Even though you sometimes come off as an awful person here, it sounds like irl you are weirdly too nice
There are some holes in this characterization. SM said the guy knocked on him after he was in the bathroom, but he never said how long he had actually been in there. The “harassed anyone taking longer than 10 minutes in the bathroom” detail is therefore an assumption you've added to his account.
SM is also hardly above “talking shit behind people's backs” himself, considering the Napoleon-complex assumption and calling the guy a movie freak. The car thing is more complicated than simply calling it a bribe to humiliate him, especially given SM's own stated admiration for wealth and the power that comes with it.
Likewise, complaining about the guy hitting on women he brought home seems inconsistent with SM's own tendency to comment on other people's private sexual behavior and orientation. The situation may have been unpleasant, but you're accepting SM's framing almost completely and then building a personality judgment on top of it.
