no. I was born into a religious family but belief has just never clicked for me. I once thought I believed in god when I was at my early teens, but looking back I was just doing what everyone else around me was doing. The whole god thing is pretty ridiculous though, but it makes sense, humans fear the unknown and so came religion to make sense of that unknown

I didn't even believe it when I was little. Never made sense that there was a dude standing on the water vapor aka clouds in the atmosphere. Or the idea of eternal anything. Like what am I going to do, play dead ps3/ps2 games forever? That would pretty much ruin whatever I was going to enjoy.

It gives you room to repent, even if it's two decades from now. Two decades is nothing to God, and even if you never repent it could be your example as a bad person that creates numerous good people.
We have bad people in the world to inspire good deeds.

The thing about God, you have to pull away from religion, then seek God on your own. Being born into a religion isn't good enough.
Know the difference between God, and what humans say about God. What religious practices don't add up etc.
Life is temporary, and what we're doing here.... We're unfolding and making ourselves.
If we were under the impression that we're being watched, and monitored or recorded, we wouldn't have any sense of freedom to choose what we do. God's presence would be beyond a distraction and we won't make due on our own. The scammer wouldn't scam, the transexual wouldn't transex, the sinner wouldn't sin. We'd stay in fear, or be bedazzled like a fan endlessly.
If it were as simple as saying "Strike me down to prove yourself" then you get struck down, that would kinda ruin what we're here for.
