This could be another one of Mendicant's psychological games. If you don't do what Mendicant ethically demands, you will put her life in danger and expose her to unbearable suffering. This is comparable to Jesus or was borrowed from her. According to Christian theology, Jesus took on the full range of human suffering to enable healing, comfort and salvation.
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to him and find rest by taking his gentle yoke upon themselves and learning from him. Isaiah 53 describes the suffering servant of God who bears the pains and sins of mankind. In Christianity, this prophecy is interpreted as a prediction of Jesus Christ, who brings salvation through his suffering and takes away the “burden” of sin addressed in Matthew 11:28.
