desperation, people wouldn't connect with each other as much if they were connected with themselves ie if people where whole. it's also why women are made to be so biologically weak, so they can be desperate to be connected. strong women are selected against more often and you only ever really see them in cultures where there are weaker men, overall still very rare.
It's love, nothing more.

Do you understand what it means to connect with others ? It doesn't entail being a lifeless deadbeat in a worthless arrangement with someone you don't care about.
Connections are worthwhile. They are engaging. We either like or don't like, inescapablely it's love.

Love bares all things. Without it we wouldn't care about anything or anyone. No interest in anything whatsoever. Love isn't romance, nor is it an emotion. It's a state of being with a broad range including hatred. The 1 thing that carried us this far, is the same force that has a hand in everything we do. The will to carry on, the nerve to continually care timelessly. Do you know what it is ? So important.
When we connect with others, we do it because it's good. We're either fond of who we connected with, or we enjoy some process in relation to who we're connecting with, whatever the case there's some degree of passion built on the foundation of love. We can then make things happen. Dreams or inspiration to invent things.
What makes people connect begins with common interests. We'll seek and reach out toward those who resonate with us.
If you have no heart, or lack passion in the slightest. Unable to enjoy anything and see no reason to participate or try or contribute then you're pretty much dead until someone or something that has to do with others brings you some kind of satisfaction.
In this modern day, people think cinnamon candy hearts or stuffed toys when they think they know love. Fortunately no one will need to understand what it really is.
when my ex-wife and her daughter visit my apartment, my ex-stepdaughter behaves disgustingly often. she does not listen to me, she calls me insulting names, but... when we go out into the street, for example, we go to rent an electric scooter, she takes my hand. I feel her hand in my hand and at that moment I feel like a real father. I feel good when I see her happy face. Long live oxytocin! :)
if next time she refuses to eat my borscht, then I will kill her. :)
