I don't see a world elite except possibly among the trillionaires. It may exist but by shear numbers it can't (shouldn't) succeed. Putin has been fighting a long game though and he has been wildly successful at tearing apart the West. It's fucked up to see so called Western/freedom lovers suddenly backing Putin over liberal democracy - just cause Russian propaganda convinced them their side lost cause things have been stolen. He's played into manufactured grievances and his efforts to divide western societies has worked to a large degree.

 about 30% of the Donbas region were Russian so they are not in the majority. It's like if 30% of Alaska wanted to join Canada - should the rest of Alaska roll over and become Canadian?

There is no tyranny. Only a bunch of shit stirring separatists who could (and should) just fuck off to Moscow or wherever if they don't like where they are.

It's not up to the people who already lived there to change for the invaders.

Xena without the usual disrespect but I think there is a bigger picture that western leaders are seeing. If helping Ukraine and starting ww3 or fucking up the world economy VS. giving half of Ukraine to putin is an easy choice for you towards helping Ukraine it is probably right that you are a redacted. You know choices have many different kinds of results.. If prices go up 40 percent in the US or Germany we will be pissed but kinda fine... People in other parts of the world will just starve and die. Things are not as easy and linear as you might think.
