Bought a TV finally / Galaxy Folding Phone

Yay… I bought a TV. I’m so tired

after all day comparing prices and trying to figure out which is the best deal at the specs I prioritized

comparing comparing comparing

found a tv in Best Buy’s “out of box” section which is just TVs that have been returned so they cost less

and got a 3500 tv for 1500 (75” Samsung 8k)

Now I have to open it and set it all up but yeah

lol I might be too tired to do that rn idk

But yeah…: this has been something that’s been a long time coming

it seems like such a stupid thing but

I made a big deal about it in my head

also while in the store I saw the new phones that fold open like and turn into an iPad.. the galaxy yeah…. Was really cool… I wish… it had a stylus though

but yeah very cool stuff and I’m like okayyyh now we are getting somewhere…

I actually like the folding galaxy phones a lot

Basically I made this thread to say seriously but tv from the out of box section at Best Buy! They have amazing deals and they gave me the remote for free

saved 2 grand which is a lot more than I was expecting to save on a Labor Day sale and is a much larger better quality tv than I was expecting to get

That's a steal.

Get a powerline adapter so you can connect it to an Ethernet cable instead of using wifi.

If you get the phone you can mirror it onto the TV wirelessly. It's a nice touch though you won't use it.

The folding phones you have to be very gentle with. Last model was subjected to getting scratched by fingernails. This new on is said to be 80% more durable.

You'll get bored of the fold maybe, it's high maintenance and I mean you have to keep really protect it from sand and dust.

I'll be using the Galaxy Note for life, as I use the stylus everyday, even right now.

White privilege.

1st of all:

bought this with savings from my job.

the reason I have my job, isn't for me to spend all of the money I make on myself. yes, I am earning a living so I can pay for basic things like a house, food, bills, car, taxes.

but the main reason I am doing this job, is so that I can pursue my goals of building a hospital for places in need outside the US. that is why I do the work that I do.

I've had that goal since I was 19 years old, so it's been a long time coming, and the fact I finally earned my way into a position where I am able to be a part of that now is very exciting for me.

I've worked hard for it yes but, only because I recognized my privelage, when I was 19 years old, and the fact I was *squandering* my existence selfishly by choosing not to make a difference when I very well could at the very least try to, for those who don't have the same access.

I'm fortunate to have luxury of comfort, a home, with a tv in my bedroom, I'm lucky to have this job and pursuing my dreams. But that doesn't mean that I am wasting that luck, and that gratitude and appreciation for my life is lost on me- or my respect for others.

To much who is given, much is expected and I'll always be a traditionalist in that way of, most of what you earn should be given back into the community.

A small percentage you live off of yes, but the rest is not for keeping.

How much do you make a month from the job?

What.

You're still squandering it, we've seen you.

I'm fortunate to have luxury of comfort, a home, with a tv in my bedroom, I'm lucky to have this job and pursuing my dreams. But that doesn't mean that I am wasting that luck, and that gratitude and appreciation for my life is lost on me- or my respect for others.

You're willing to go to the ER over a little food poisoning, I don't think you know how to not waste it.

The reason I go to the ER is because I have panic attacks about becoming ill and dying because when I was a small child I almost did die from botulism and it was so traumatic I developed OCD surrounding food and a serious eating disorder (doing better now but as a child it was bad). But yeah, basically I'm afraid that I'm dying again and I just want to make it stop so I can go to sleep and stop freaking out.

And you don't look at my finances though, I'm saying, this is how I live like, a percentage of it is for you, but a huge percentage is for a purpose that is larger than yourself or material things. You just don't see that other percentage, because I don't talk about it.

What.

yeah, welcome to getting to know the real person behind the blanc account.

regardless, I appreciate everyones concern for others and that material wealth is being put to good use. I agree with you 100% and, I'm glad that I'm not the only one interested in making a difference. Am I saint? No. But I have goals, and my motives behind things, I thought you should know.

What I'm trying to say is yes, I have white privelage. I was born with it. But, behind this account, the real person, is doing things with their life that you don't see, so don't be so quick to judge every single white person, I guess.

A lot of people do try to give back.
