I don't think being married increases it until they have a kid, but if it were a couple where both needed assistance they could both apply for it jointly. 

BR can work to add to their total, but if their assets get above a certain amount then they'll claim they didn't need the assistance that month and will demand the money back. This has inspired them to do untaxed work. 

Will you be receiving SSI benefits now that you're in Hawaii as well?

SSI's handled state-by-state, so she should have been in contact with them to get it transferred. 

She might also get a different amount of money than she's currently getting. 

Food assistance?

Judging by how she's demonized the food stamp situation and sounds confused about money, I suspect she'll keep raiding people's fruit trees, pick weeds off the ground, and remark on the 'bigger sales bin' or whatever. 

Imagine paying like $400 a month for a tent, coupled with having to do work on it and around it. 

 I thought it paid more starting this year but i didn't know you had to have a kid for it, how depressing? Dystopian? 

I don't get people that do be talking down on food stamps, everyone needs a lil help every once in awhile. I wanna chalk it up to the 'i didn't earn it' mentality but idk

My SSI's been going up a little every year, but it's just been a few dollars each time. They also are very prone to making mistakes, which tends to lead to fines that can be hard to combat when they're so disorganized.

They figure a child needs funding too. It's like how you get extra if you have to pay rent or buy your own food.

In Delora's case she got fined once over them, somehow, so she seems to have demonized the concept entirely. 

It has been harder to talk to SSI people since COVID, aiming to appeal to them can be a real pain now. Their buildings are practically empty now and arranging appointments with them isn't as efficient as it ought to be. I can understand how people with disorders could become confused from a system like this when the people who are supposed to be helping are becoming increasingly difficult to get in contact with (and honestly aren't the best at their jobs from what I've seen).

 pretty sure crow has convinced him he is an invalid and she steals his welfare checks every month lmao (ie 'looks after it for him'). look how much he seems to know about the shit yet claims he can't handle the process himself and crow has to do it for him.

So you've continued to use food stamps since this happened? 

 No it's that the food stamps people said I could get em but I am having a hard time getting em and I want em. Although br and I both have jobs now so I don't want em so much anymore. Why would I keep trying to do it if I can't figure it out when I could get paid to dig a big hole in the ground instead and buy some pie? It's all good now. Til they decrease the stamps cus of the job but I dunno when they do that. I told em I'm working now tho. So we will see. Actually we are alright cus we did briefly get em lately but they stopped but I knew they would stop so I bought a bunch of dried food at once and stored it in a huge box and now I am never hungry. Soon I will find someone else to hire me to dig a new hole. My husband works at the water bottle factory and he gets 14$ an hour and brings me water bottles to drink for free and he gives me snacks. He bought me chips. He said I was a good wife for using the check to pay rent so long and pay his school loans and buy all the food, so now that he has a job he says he will pay for stuff for a bit. But I still wanna pay the rent anyway because that is what I always did. I am waiting for my husband to come back so that he will give me more water bottles and hugs
