Does having SSI mean you couldn't receive covid unemployment checks after losing your job? Genuine question cos idk.
I was sent a covid check, and later on a letter for who to talk to in case I was not sent a check.
That's different from receiving unemployment checks, though.

Ah weird, for some reason i thought you were both getting individual benefits, do married couples get more or less than single people on SSI? Will you be receiving SSI benefits now that you're in Hawaii as well? Food assistance?

I don't think being married increases it until they have a kid, but if it were a couple where both needed assistance they could both apply for it jointly.
BR can work to add to their total, but if their assets get above a certain amount then they'll claim they didn't need the assistance that month and will demand the money back. This has inspired them to do untaxed work.
Will you be receiving SSI benefits now that you're in Hawaii as well?
SSI's handled state-by-state, so she should have been in contact with them to get it transferred.
She might also get a different amount of money than she's currently getting.
Food assistance?
Judging by how she's demonized the food stamp situation and sounds confused about money, I suspect she'll keep raiding people's fruit trees, pick weeds off the ground, and remark on the 'bigger sales bin' or whatever.
Imagine paying like $400 a month for a tent, coupled with having to do work on it and around it.
