I'm sure some people with seniority do shady dealings, it seems inevitable with anything of that scale in size. But i wouldn't project that to the organization as a whole. Perhaps that's my more charitable thinking speaking.

I'm more prone to seeing large organizations having increased odds of inviting it with the time it's spent still alive increasing it further. In a way, how couldn't someone try to take advantage of this?

It's inevitable. But AA is organized to where the money usually goes locally and there tends to be accountability and transparency. It's a bit different from schemes that are probably organized around siphoning revenue with the facade of being something else, such as what Scientology seems to do. A tree will produce some bad apples, that's just nature.
