Yes yes beef we know, pointing it out ruins it
I meditate. I also evoke the feelings of the day before going to bed and pacify them. Often feelings are not properly felt, especially uncomfortable ones, and linger around as moods and shit. Also, religion or spirituality helps a lot. Connecting to something greater than yourself is very liberating.
Interesting that you focus on the feelings, if I ever feel like there's unresolved things from a day it's usually solved by making a to do list for tomorrow
Thats the opposite of unwinding.

Right. You were just joking. Sorry I ruined your joke. How silly of me.~

my advice? show up to work late, cut class, do the wrong thing, be in the wrong places. it sounds like itd do the opposite but trust me, itll loosen you up
That'd work as far as the room to trivialize taking those things as seriously, but what if you're already screwing those things up?
life can be busy and being constantly aware is tiring
i find that i unwind only when im less aware for whichever reason, like really focused on one thing, and this one thing varies. it can be a conversation, youtube clip, or a train of thought. it may last a few seconds if i'm lucky. i've noticed how it's increasingly more important to calm my brain at the end of the day because if i don't, then my sleep suffers and it has a cascade effect into the next day
stress and nervosity keep me from fully forgetting my whereabouts and focusing on one thing, this is potentially debilitating.
unwinding is hard but it shouldn't be - please share your secrets and wisdom to help an old chimp get some peace of mind
I love scuba diving to unwind - it's total mindfulness. Depending on the dive, focusing solely on your breathing is essentially concentrating on not dying. I know it sounds like it would be stressful, but it's the ultimate relaxation. The other perk is flying through an alien Dr Seuss world and being able to move in 3 dimensions, unconstrained by gravity.
When I can't dive, I watch the same sitcoms on repeat (The Office, Seinfeld, Always Sunny, Peep Show, Parks and Rec etc etc). There's something about watching the same show for the 20th time that's kind of meditative.
Swimming and floating around at night, a nice bath if a pool isn't available just sorta submerge yourself for as long as you can hold your breath.
When that doesn't work out for me I schedule a trip up to the farm
farm??? what farm? I want to go to the farm too
