Considering that most men are perceived by women to be ugly yet marry them anyways. Based on height, muscle strength, dominance or general alpha maleness. 

Most men can go to 80% of women and say there hot. Whilst most women can only say 15% of men are hot. There seems to be a un-natural imbalance or a natural balance? If we think about it. Male behaviour is generally ugly.

If everyone started to act like there actual gender with no femininity or masculinity mixed in. We could expect the ultra feminine women to be attractive and pretty both in behaviour and looks. Whilst the ultra masculine man being ugly and scary looking both in behaviour and looks.

Women are attracted to healthy bodies, and any man can look good if he works out. She doesn't really need to know the man, all he needs is to fill out her checkmarks and he gets a pass to 3rd base. If the man comes across as needy that's off putting for her.

We never pick who we fall for either, it just happens and the other side just settles. That being said women like men for various reasons. 

The relations between men and women aren't as good as it used to be though. On planet Earth there is a new narrative that puts Men at the bottom of the barrel.

Men were a fucking mistake. 

I read an article a long time ago, describing reseaech showing that women were more attracted to men for their minds and intelligence, but it was their looks that got passed down. While men were more attracted and selected women as partners based on their looks, but it was their intelligence that got passed down.

So if men pick better looking women, and compromise on intelligence, the population pool could be getting dumber if men aren't selecting the smartest women for procreation if they are more concerned with physical looks.

While men could be getting less attractive if women are compromising on looks, by going for intelligence and other personality traits as the determining factor, while the physical appearance deemed less critical is what is passing down and dominating the gene pool.

Being 'smart' adds complication when people like easy answers, hence why sluts are sexy.

"Everyone" seems like a stretch.  Unless you mean no more than the minor subconscious responses we have to it.

It seems more to me that subconsciously, women are seeking structure. Someone to make decisions and take control in the aspects of life they are nervous or otherwise reluctant to face.

It seems to me like that's what more insecure men need to believe.  They desire to control, and therefor what they desire to control must desire to be controlled.  It's really quite solipsist.

This is why women are focused on things like, "how does he handle other men,"

Do we? lol  I typically see men focusing on how men handle other men. : P

Men don't focus on this?  I would think that if, as you seem to imply, men are built to control, that they'd be equally concerned, if not moreso, with how much a woman is willing to stand up to them.
