I need to know

Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie?

Please settle this for TC and I before we come to blows.

Thanks.

Christmas movie for goths, so they can enjoy the Christmas season  even though it means the end of their favorite holiday season.

Sc is pretty boring.

It's a Halloween movie set at Christmas.

I've never seen it, but does it have anything to do with Halloween apart from being about a corpse or something? If it's set during Christmas then it's probably a Christmas movie

What in the actual fuck? You need to, it's a classic!

Without any spoilers: it's about Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King  of Halloween town. This town spends every waking moment preparing for Halloween so that each year is bigger and better. Jack feels hollow and empty tho, no longer finding joy in terrorizing children. While chasing his dog through the woods he falls through a portal into Christmas town and feels a warmness inside from watching families cozied up together with twinkling lights and and gifts. He then tried to combine Christmas with Halloween and hijinks insue. Also a Frankenstein-est Rag Doll made of parts named Sally is in love with him, and he doesnt know and she's pretty emo-cute pining away for him and trying to make him happy.

This is basically the kind of description Didney would put on the back of a movie box, no spoilers don't worry, that all happens in like the first 5 min as the set up for the story

Agreed. While the overall story itself might be lacking, the artistry and irony cannot be denied. It's one of the few cases where digitally remastering made it look worse, the prior one being up there with Fantastic Mr. Fox for stop motion quality.

The NBC portion of the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMa when it was up was pretty awesome. The Jack Skellington model was bigger in person than I figured from seeing it on the screen.

They really should have just written Sally out of the story.

I've probably missed a lot of things one might consider classics, I was pretty sheltered as a kid with what media I could consume and there's a lot of catching up still to do, but I'll bump this up on my list because it sounds right up my alley :3

And if I'm not sure what the conclusion of the movie is but it sounds to me like it's about both holidays then, like a transitional movie for whatever comes between Halloween and Christmas... Wait when is Thanksgiving in America?
