A light attack and a heavy attack, each with type splits that affect elemental resistances differently. It's so overly simplified even Med can understand it.

This strategy is garbage compared to the original games' room for it. It's the comparison between caveman beating each other with clubs and ninjas teleporting around with tons of buffs, debuffs, and strange strategies.

Something as simple as the Shedinja gimmick shows the creative room the original method has over this cellphone app garbage, but again you can transfer what you catch into the superior games so it's not pointless.

I mostly just played PokeGo with Ditto strats.

Its 2 heavy attacks if you play seriously at all. There is so much strategy it’s not even funny and really the main complaint I have is that you battle with 3 instead of 6. If you played pogo with ditto strats then you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Ahh, so the caveman has two different forms of damage dealing nukes? Woooow.

Seriously, the move base in PokeGo is fucking sad compared to the originals. It's been enough to demotivate me from even playing the thing if I'm not otherwise in the middle of traveling (mostly for sentimental geodata).

There is so much strategy it’s not even funny and really the main complaint I have is that you battle with 3 instead of 6.

It'd be wicked boring in that format if you had to battle with more than three. You barely even have switch-out strats in that game, it's just throwing type clusters at each other.

If you played pogo with ditto strats then you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Actually, ditto gives the room to understand a wider range of strategies by stealing it from your opponents without having to give the game a big time investment, otherwise what few things save PokeGo were stolen from the originals who, frankly, did it better.

PokeGo lacks complexity, you really ought to school yourself on the originals before you pretend that this game even shines 1/4 as brightly. Without pure support moves, trade out gimmicks, and more complex status moves it's beyond dumbed down. They even removed the love/hate mechanic for damage modifiers.

In the originals I mostly run Ghosts, which means I'm used to corkscrewed strategies rather than just bumping numbers.

There are definitely switch out strats you have literally no idea what you’re talking about. The 2nd nuke changes everything and I have played the shit out of every pokemon game up to sun and moon. Also the move pools while many pokemon you should have 3 specific moves there are many pokemon with very diverse movesets. Turn based is for the past.

I don't even see Baton Pass on there.

Did you only use damage dealing moves? Caveman strats work out in those cases from low PP moves being able to be more abused in multiplayer, but you can't do any weird strategies like Trick Rooms or even Recover. There isn't even leech seed, or for that matter status effects, just stat raises. I don't even see Light Screen as an ability, and counter-attack strats and self-harming gambits are mostly gone.

They dumbed it down, as is it lacks complexity beyond it's type clusters.

Also the move pools while many pokemon you should have 3 specific moves there are many pokemon with very diverse movesets.

For more than just type clusters though? I don't see complexity in that, it's just resistances.

Does this game even use EVs?

Turn based is for the past.

It's still turn based, it's just closer to Final Fantasy X's version of it.

This shit hasn't transcended the artificial time selection mechanic, we've only seen Pokemon doing that in Smash.

It’s not turn based, many strong pokemon have 2 charged moves of the same type. Stat modifiers are huge to the game. There are a lot of things that aren’t there but the more you play the game the more you see they aren’t needed. Baits are a huge part of the game.

Quite the opposite, the more I played the game the more I realized that type clusters are booooring when that's the sole game mechanic. Even stat buffing gets boring if you can't do interesting gambits with it (like Baton Pass).

I also hadn't realized until playing PokeGo how much EVs add to the game.

Stat modifiers are huge to the game.

Baits are a huge part of the game.

Exactly, stat buffs and type clustering solely. It's a caveman game app disguised as Pokemon, whereas the originals had some crazy abilities for rules lawyering the match.

Even a move as shitty as Disable, or even both forms of the move Spite, make the game a lot more interesting. Removing status effects from this game is a crime.
