To say there is such a thing like a real and a fake life etc is already a defense mechanism, I hope people realize this. This is your REAL LIFE. Happening RIGHT NOW. Now sit on that and feel the anxiety for as long as possible.

I think you’re the one experiencing splitting

The fact that fake reality exists inside real reality simultaneously isn’t hard to grasp like running a multi tasking program or playing piano with two hands at the same time

But perhaps your mind divides the two for whatever reason.

it’s sort of like alcohol it’s fine to use it but only responsibly

I feel like this is here to be an escape from real life, but all I’ve ever wanted is a supplement to real life, where I can figure myself out and apply it to real life so I can have a more fulfilling real life. I know most people wish this was real life, but I just want help with real life and to help others with real life. What is this place supposed to be for you?

But this is real life.

Like if you were scared that people would see behind the mask, what did you do? Then tell them that. If you don't know, watch more TV and say what the characters say in those situations. That's what I do.

Sounds pretty ASPD but okay

Sc is pretty boring.

I feel like this place is real life. I hate facebook/ twitter/ insta/ pretty much every mainstream media so this is where I can socialize and be myself without left-hivemind censoring. I consider the people I interact with her to be real people I form social dynamics with.

I'm afraid of how my life was but am pleased with how it is in this current instance; But I figure, You can only have peace if you accept that life goes up and down, and hardly ever exactly how you planned. The world is to wild to tame, and to random for you to control. So just live in this crazy reality as best you can, don't hope for happy ever after, as there are always up and downs, but just remember it probably isn't the end of the world either. Relax.

BTW there is no such thing as real life and fake life. There is ONLY real life. What you probably mean is that you choose to spend your time in ways that avoid responsibility and growth etc. If I stay in your paradigm though, even then it seems obvious to me that your understanding of changing your life is fundamentally flawed. If you want to change your life it is obvious that you have to do the work in real life. You can't somehow create a fake life that is less dangerous and expect it to be an effective tool to change your real life, which you are avoiding. Do the work and grow through the pain.

My real life is not behind a screen. I have worked for what I have and I have great things in real life. My issue is I hate real life because I have to do what other people think is good and makes you successful, just to be truly free. Work is only necessary because we have to live in this society and this society was created by people who value the concepts associated wi Th it like working together and capitalism. I’m all about freedom and everything that comes with it, but I feel like to survive you need to be a slave to someone. You pay taxes, so you are a slave to the system, or you work for someone, so you are their slave. You make money for them and they give you less than 1% of the money you made them. You work for yourself and you literally get charged an extra fee for doing so. It’s like they want you to stay in your place and that place is the place of a follower. That’s why I decided to go to school and make a bunch of cash so I can one day avoid taxes and not have to work and make it so my children don’t have to work. That reality, for me, is real life. This place is a supplement to real life where I can discuss how much I hate real life, while acknowledging that I’m doing pretty well in it. It’s also a place where I can say the crazy things that pop into my head that are not cool to say I’m real life.

It's more symptomatic of older people to see computers as unreal.

I'm old fashioned. I prefer no technology. I have no social media and I rarely use the computer if I am not in school. I come here when I am super depressed to feel better about myself after talking to people like you. Your life gives me hope that I am not at rock bottom. Thank you.
