no, stupidity is the nominal opinions present in the zeitgest of a society
So it's about conformity then?

What if conformity is right though? What benefit would original thoughts be if they are otherwise already on the "correct" path?
Isn't innovation purely for innovation's sake decadent when there otherwise isn't a need for it, or is it inherently stupid to do things in a 'tried and true' way?
It could just as easily be argued that those aiming to reinvent the wheel, rather than embrace the success it already represents, is a waste of time. What value is originality when the end product is worse than what's already here?

i don't remember talking about the utilities of conformity
as a general rule, only 1 out of ten thousand (perhaps this is a generous estimate) protestors have thought the matter to its logical conclusion, the rest are present for two reasons, the first being to satiate their vanity by way of validation from other protestors, the second being to alleviate boredom
