Lessons from Canada’s Worst Mass Shooting

1. More gun laws and regulations do not stop mass shootings. Crazy people do not care about the gun laws.

2. You need to protect yourself, the police will not help you. This guy was out there for 12 hours killing people.

3. Don't trust the cops, the shooter was disguised as a cop to kill people.

Yeah the other thing is think of how many millions of guns are already in circulation at this point, what are we going to do just, retrieve them all?

You can’t *undo* what’s already been done. The guns are already out there, and taking them all away, doesn’t work if the people who *shouldn’t have them* just, simply don’t turn them in- because they’re not good citizens. They’re criminals, and they don’t abide by any laws.

And the second issue is, look at Mexico. Mexico is a prime example of what happens when you ban guns.

The people who do have them, are horribly corrupt, and have way too much power.

The third issue is, you can DIY make them if you know what you’re doing.

lol Americans tryinta tell us how to deal with the second  mass shooting in our history.

Yeah, most of our killers use cars, and our shooters don't actually hit anybody. Unless they're fucking American anti-abortion whackjobs  :P

And yeah. I still don't believe Sven is Swedish  :P

The only lesson to learn from this story is that when you see a guy married to a woman that's WAAAAY too good looking for him losing his shit at a backyard bbq bc he's jealous, call the cops immediately. In a domestic dispute, our cops have the right to force people to see a shrink, even if the charges don't stick.

That is the difference between the Canadian system and the American.

Unfortunately, those of us who are in the process of registering our firearms will likely lose them, now.

Yes, blanc. This is Canada. The cops and the courts take ppl's guns away all the time. Worst gun removal story I've ever heard was from a collector I know. He had everything. 17thc muskets, Civil War era pearl handled revolvers, all kinds of beautiful historical pieces. All licensed.

But then he opened an after hours club and started making more money than the PDRs. So naturally, somebody sent the cops to check on him. But he was too good at getting the lowlifes and their drugs out of his club just before the cops came and cleaned him out. He didn't do drugs, himself. Everybody hated him for that bc the guy could sell anything and make money hand over fist. He was the one who taught me how to be around whatever brain softeners everybody else was fucking up their lives with, and not get hooked, myself, btw   ;)

So the cops made up some shit about a drive by shooting and claimed his musket as evidence lol (you savvy American gun nuts should know why that's hilarious  ;)) He says they also planted dope on him to tryta get him to rat...  smh.

He lost all his guns and served a 2 year jail sentence, and last I saw of him 9 years ago, he had sold the family business to square up on his legal fees, and was considering selling his house bc his mom was on her last legs and they were having trouble getting back on their feet.

This is what Canadian cops do to gun owners up here. You have to be squeaky clean on paper, or they'll ruin you.

@blanc: if you want to know how dirty Toronto cops are when it comes to chasing down guns and drugs, watch White Boy Rick. (Yeah yeah. I can just hear Peachy calling me an idiot and telling me that movie is about Detroit lol Smthg tells me that bitch has a voice like a tiny yapping dog  :D)

Our cops are like that, too. However, there 's always been a lot more money and a lot less crime (per capita) in Toronto.

That includes the RCMP (Those are the Feds. Americans refer to that particular branch of law enforcement as the FBI.)

looks like there has been more than two since 1989 unless you define mass as greater than 10. and you're way too smart for me. ;)

Like I said: THE SHOOTERS (those are the people who use guns to go postal) DON'T HIT ANYTHING.

Look it up. Our first mass shooting was in 1989. 6 dead, I believe.

Another guy who went postal at a school in the early 00ts wounded 4 ppl and only killed one. That doesn't count as a 'mass shooting' in my view.

A few other crazies shot off their guns and didn't manage to hit anything.

AND AN AMERICAN WHO CAME HERE TO SHOOT ABORTION DOCTORS. He doesn't count either bc he's American.

Then there were a few killers like Minassian who ran people over with their vehicles and didn't actually use a gun.

I forgot about those 2 idiots last summer. They killed 3, but I'm not entirely sure they used bullets, being lost in the woods like they were. They used their last 2 bullets on themselves bc they were stupid little punks who couldn't hack the wilderness adventure they had planned for themselves lol

Then the the majority of homicides committed in this country (about 600 to 700 every year) which are usually drug dealers killing other criminals, or wife beaters killing their wives or kids. Smthg like half are not committed with guns.

Unless smthg has changed since I last researched this topic in 2015.

But, like I said, I refuse to do research for you ppl. If you have proof that more than 40% of homicides every year in Canada are committed with guns going back 50 years, and that more than 2 'mass shootings' (i.e. more than 5 people were killed on the same day by the same killer using a gun)

Then by all means, post it  :D

lol and we get it. The crazies up here get all kinds of awesome free drugs to keep them quiet  :D

I thought the "Good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun" thing was already debunked

Absolutely. It turns out that most of Wortman's victims either knew him, or were burned out of their houses and then shot, paramilitary style.

A gun likely wouldn't have saved any of them bc...

Wortman: knock knock hi diddley ho neighbour

Neighbour: Hi diddlereen… BANG and bleeds out.

Wortman: knock knock The RCMP are looking for a suspect. May we come in and talk to you?

Concerned citizen: Why, yes. Anything I can to to hel…. BANG and bleeds out

I agree with xena, we dont need to legalize gunz, we need to ban toxic masculinity that makes men *snickers* shoot shit up and also ban incels. i propose we add a new system to schools called "social noting" where the male students get rated for their social success and get expelled if they dont receive above B (which is getting laid, fitting in etc)

we should also make sure no man can shoot up again by castrating all men which will remove their primal animal urges to kill and rape wymin.
