Feeling Free= Having Control

Primal stated: source post

Think  about it...and propose your ideas....I will confirm where you are on the same wavelength or not...

But think about it first...

I've already expressed my ideas. I bothered to type them out because, maybe, I may find something to the contrary. This is not something I have not thought about.

To re-elaborate: Control requires investment. Investment is something which constrains freedom, it is narrowing in on a possibility. So when you say "Feeling Free= Having Control," I am not sure I agree with you on that. I gave examples to substantiate what I meant, such as how retaining what you possess subtracts from your freedom by compelling you to do things to not lose said possesions. I think that is the impasse in the discussion? I can only know if you elaborate on your opinions of what I am saying.

I'd say that the only thing that somewhat limits my freedom is having to arrive at a particular place in set time, whether it would be a lecture, work, movie or a meet up, etc.

Then I get into a semi procrastinative state, i.e. don't do much prior the time of departure.

Regardless, I chose to partake in said activities, thus it seems debatable if it's a freedom limiter or not.

Other than that, I'm as free as it gets.

I know that....perhaps why you are one of few that will delve into the topic..

Did you watch the video?...substitute the compulsion for any other...serves the same purpose for discussion.

To re-elaborate: Control requires investment.

Not necessarily...

Investment is something which constrains freedom, it is narrowing in on a possibility.

Disagree here as well.

So when you say "Feeling Free= Having Control," I am not sure I agree with you on that.

Point of discussion based on the video...not necessarily my point of view...but interesting nonetheless

You are defining and thinking in terms of possession. That is the problem.

In terms of investments...that is another discussion of different parameters...

...sometimes..a small investment ...pays out the hugest dividends when least expected...making a world of difference in a shit situation.

Reality is like that..lol..

Seems so

Would appear to be the case...not otherwise dysfunctional

Imagine that?....why not speak for yourself...as opposed to others...and see where that leads...

Integrity...what a wonderful concept...some only talk the walk...

There's that dreaded "R" word again. You've used that word at least five times today already. Once you're on that train you're prone to shutting out other ideas.

Dead drug addicted musician and cartoon characters from the  figments of someone else's imagination?

What does that have to do with anything? It's still a person, and the cartoon characters were written by people.

Existential crisis...lol...fancy words without meaning..(google that..)

An existential crisis is a moment at which an individual questions the very foundations of their life: whether this life has any meaning, purpose, or value. This issue of the meaning and purpose of existence is the topic of the philosophical school of existentialism.

Nope....that makes no sense...lol..

How does it not make sense that someone could flip out once they recognize their own insignificance?

As for the topic itself... Blah blah freedom is a myth blah blah determinism blah blah we don't really control anything blah blah blah fate yada yada yada self control beliefs are pure ego. It's a rerun argument on my part.
