can I be your princess skinny dong?
Ed will love the post I'm about to put out because it just confirms my shrew-like ways.
I don't believe happy endings truly exist so I'm not a huge fan of them in fiction be that literary or cinematic. If I'm watching a movie or a show I want it to be unpredictable and almost chaotic. If there's a love story involved I want to see the main characters evolve through their difficult circumstances.
I kinda of believe happy endings do not exist. I just think they do exist they are just rare. It is rare like winning the lottery. I mean a super happy ending. It does not mean people can not end life on good terms. I just mean someone getting what they want or even more.
I know I put it in a way that is vague. "Getting what you want" is subjective of course. I think it makes more sense to say someone who at the end of their life is satisfied and feels there is no page left unturned. A LIFE LIVED TO THE FULLEST!
I can see the reason you would think there is no happy ending. It is like saying seven billion people have entered a lottery and only some will be be end their lives with joy and satisfaction. I will not stop you from disagreeing. I was just stating my thoughts.
I've yet to read a happy story of someone winning the lottery though. My point is that life isn't a fairy tale. The happy ending that some couples experience are in fact, challenging and tumultuous. From the outside looking in you see 50+ years together and assume it was all one big beautiful love story but there is simply no way that's possible. The way you handle the problems can be the defining factor in your happiness with someone else. Sure, they can end life on good terms but it's the journey and not the destination that matters.
