Happy ending songs, articles, book clips, quotes, movie clips, show clips, stories, etc. Then they all lived happily ever after!
Well, I guess since are stories with happy endings..
I met this girl, and we went out for a while. Then after a time, I finally managed to take her into my bedroom. When we had sex after 3 weeks knowing each other, it was magical. I was in love, I felt like one when I was inside her. Then I took it out, told her to get on her knees and close her eyes. Gave her the happy ending.
Haven't talked to her in 6 months. Never seen a Happy Ending with a Sad Ending in the same story, it was the first time, I guess she wasn't into that kind of ending. It was almost like a fairy tale until I glued her eyes shut down. Her loss.
Happy endings often leave me feeling disappointed. Many movies I've seen, just by the plot at beginning I could tell there would be a "happy ending." Protagonist faces difficult circumstances and overcomes them, then some upbeat music plays before the credits roll. It feels cliche.
Then there are the movies that have uncertainty, and it looks like things are going south for the main character near the end, but it was all just for suspense and build-up. Those annoy me worse, because there was the potential for the unexpected, but the expected happened (think of the last Toy Story movie, but of course Pixar is not going to traumatize kids).
I would not dislike a movie solely based on having a happy ending, or a predictable "unhappy ending." I just feel uncertainty is more interesting in a film, and too many movies seem predictable 10-15 minutes in. Admittedly, I am not an avid watcher of films.
